Whaler, a 5yo double de-clawed cat (argh... very cruel), has been here for many, many months. He came in quite ill at 25 pounds, and is all well now and about 15 lbs., but still needs to lose another few pounds slowly over time. Weight loss in cats can only be done safely at 2% per week, so you can understand why it takes so long! Whaler does well with our other cats, he chases one of our little dogs (!), but otherwise pretty much ignores the dogs altogether. Instead of sleeping IN his cat house, he likes to sleep atop it! He is a funny cat with a BIG personality.
He is a nice boy and really deserves a loving home.
Whaler would make a FABULOUS single cat as he is pretty much a singleton though does fine with others and often others sleep with him.
Whaler has slightly crossed crystal blue eyes that are stunning! We're still trying to get a picture of him with his eyes open now that he has lost so much of his unnecessary weight! He loves to be brushed. He had a complete blood work up when leaving the shelter and no other health problems were identified.
