My name is Rusty, I was found out wondering cold, hungry and all alone. Since in foster care I have put on a few pounds and feel great. I spend lots of time on the sofa and am a good boy or so my foster mom says. When she first got me I was groomed very short because of the matts but now my hair is coming in and she says I look beautiful. I do have a severe case of dry eye and will need medication the rest of my life to help but my foster Mom says it's not that big a deal. Rusty has completed his heartworm treatment and is now negative. He still does however have a severe cough at certain times of the day and will probably need cough medicine when his cough is really bad. He is a sweet boy, would probably do best as an only dog. Rusty does need to lose a few pounds since he was on predisone for so long and gained weight. He is now at 21 lbs. He also requires nebulizer treatments about once a week to help the inflamation of his lungs due to heartworms.
I am approx 5yrs old, neutered, up to date on all my shots including rabies ,heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed for intestinal parasites, currently on a heartworm and flea preventative. We are a non profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted dogs. We take our pets from kill shelters, owners who can longer care for them, and strays. They are completed vetted and then fostered in our homes until the perfect family can be found for them.
We show our adoptable dogs every Saturday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Petco on the corner of N. Dale Mabry Hwy and Fletcher Ave. in Tampa.
Our Adoption Process...
We have an application that is the first step in our adoption process. This application can be downloaded from our website at www.lostangelsanimalrescue.org. The adoption fee varies depending on the medical expenses incurred. We also require vet references and potentially a home visit before an adoption is finalized.
