TOOTSIE's Info...
| Breed: | Labrador Retriever Mix | Color: | Brown/Chocolate - With White | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Just take a look at that sad face. Tootsie came to me due to her family having to relocate. She is about 7/8 yo, weighs about 55 lbs, loves being petted and brushed, needs a loving family to help overcome the unhappiness of being abandoned, but she would prefer to be the only pet in that family. If you would like to meet Tootsie email wilma@wilmasorphans.com to set up an appointment. There is an adoption process and fee.

Rescue Group Info...
Wilma's Orphans Inc is a small not for profit [501c3] dog [only] rescue that works very hard finding permanent homes for dogs who need a second, third or even fourth chance at happiness. It is a one-woman operation, and I am that woman. My name is Wilma, and I've been interested in dogs all my life. After retiring from the business world it seemed only natural to follow my dream and my passion both of which involve working with dogs, and so Wilma's Orphans Inc came into being. The main objective is to rescue homeless and unwanted dogs with adoption to loving forever families the end result. Every dog is seen by a veterinarian regardless of where it came from. They are given their rabies and distemper vaccinations, dewormed and complete blood panels taken. All dogs are spayed or neutered before adoption. If there is a medical or physical problem it is taken care of to the best of my ability. Each dog's temperament and personality is well-known so prospective adopters are fully informed before adopting. There are a variety of breeds, mixes, sizes, shapes, sexes, ages and colors. Practically something for everyone. Please look at all the sweet faces imploring you to take them home. You just might find the "love of your life" at Wilma's Orphans. Give us a call and come see.
Prospective adopters are welcome to come meet the dog of their choice but need to contact Wilma's Orphans to set up an appointment. Visits are by appointment only.
Meeting the dog you are interested in is an important part of the adoption process. And if you are looking for a second dog bringing your current pet along for the initial "meet n greet" is of paramount importance. The dogs do have the final say in determining the success of an adoption. If they don't get along no matter how much you like our dog it won't work.
The adoption process consists of an application, home visit, contract, and donation.
Wilma's Orphans Inc is located in Hempstead, New York . We welcome inquiries from the tri-state area.
