Sadie's story...
Silly Sadie! Really she is so silly, makes you want to laugh and smile. Sadie is an American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer mix. She is about 2-3 years young with tons of love and attention to give. She loves to be a socialite with people and is absolutely in heaven when she is around kids. We have taught her so many tricks that we consider her the Master of tricks at our house. She knows, sit, sit pretty, paw, other paw, down, stay, roll over, crawl, play dead, leave it and too many more tricks to list. She learned stop, drop and roll within a matter of 2 whole minutes. We almost think that she should be a firefighter’s child!! She is a quick learner and loves to please especially when the kids are training her. Yep that’s right we have had 7 year old children teaching Silly Sadie tricks. Sadie has completed some training at Pets Mart and got promoted to the advanced class within 2 classes. Unfortunately we were unable to continue to take her because of some personal issues going on but she still has 6 classes that can still be used. We also have a trainer who works with our rescue and is willing to donate 1 year worth of free training for her free of charge to whomever makes her part of their family and adopts her!!!
Can you talk about a great girl, she loves to come and cuddle with you and loves to give sweet gentle kisses too! She is a real keeper and lover girl. She has been around other pups but sometimes just does not do so well. We think she just needs to be the only pet in the household and would love all the attention that she would get. She loves to go on walks and rides just to be around someone. She really just wants a companion to be her forever friend!!! She is such a smart girl who is in such need for her forever loving family to find her. She is house trained, crate trained(not that she needs to be in a crate because she is very well behaved when left out), spayed, micro-chipped, heartworm tested negative and up to date on all her vaccinations.

If you would like to meet me please call my foster mommy Gina at 815-531-4929 or send an email to rescueboxers@yahoo.com . My adoption fee of $50 (the rest has been paid by one of our generous sponsors) covers the cost of my vetting. An adoption application and home visit are necessary prior adoption. Please adopt me so my foster mommy can rescue another dog in desperate need. Thanks for looking at me and I hope to meet you soon.

About Our Rescue Group...
My name is Jill and I am the President of Homeless Animal Rescue Team. I am a licensed rescue. I have been doing rescue for 3 years now. It is the hardest job I will ever love. The reason I do what I do is to save the animals in the high kill shelters in the Southern states that wouldn't have a chance if it wasn't for out of state rescues like ours. I also do what I do to educate the public about the proper care of animals and to be the voice for those that are not being taken care of. We are foster home based so we can only save as many as we have room for in our dedicated foster homes so if you can't adopt please consider fostering a dog or puppy for us. Please feel free to call me any time day or night with any questions. 815-919-2587 or thedoglover@att.net

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are not a shelter. We are a group of concerned pet owners that came together to rescue dogs from municipal kill shelters in rural counties. HART is a licensed rescue that is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 group and is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog from the kill facility, it is placed in the care of one of our loving foster homes in Northeastern Illinois.
To meet one of our sweet dogs or for more information on a particular dog, please contact Jill at thedoglover@att.net. To expedite your request, please download and complete an Adoption Application in full and return to Jill at thedoglover@att.net. Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster home to set up a time to meet the pooch of your choice!

You may not get an immediate response as we get tied up when saving dogs from euthanasia, often just days or hours before they are scheduled to be put to sleep. This takes a lot of coordination when done from out of state. Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, It is not unusual for us to take several days to respond. Its not that we do not appreciate you because we LOVE our adopters! Things just take longer for all volunteer organizations so we appreciate your patience and understanding. Feel free to email us again if you feel we may have overlooked your inquiry or application and you are committed to adopting a rescue dog for the rest of its life.
Thank you for considering adoption!

To make an appointment to meet one of our pets, please download, complete and submit an adoption application. Apps available at www.hartofil.com and it will expedite your request.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fees range from $100 - $300 depending on age and breed. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, fecal and heartworm test(only over the age of 6 months) and all up to date age appropriate vaccinations. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!!! Please consider fostering one of our dogs for a short period of time....MORE FOSTER HOMES MEANS MORE LIVES SAVED!!!
