Reggie's Story...
Reggie is an extremely affectionate boy who was rescued from Hurricane Katrina. (Est. d.o.b. 2002) He will climb onto your shoulders from a high perch, or onto your lap from a low perch, and purr till the cows come home. Friendly to everyone, he just loves to have his coat brushed. He is content snuggling up to you for love and affection and repays you with his light purring and nuzzling. Reggie is a really big boy that has a few scars from being on the streets of New Orleans but really is a big push over. He lives with another cat so we know he never started any squabbles. Any home would be lucky to have such an affectionate loveable cat. Reggie is FIV positive so needs to be in a single cat home or in a home with other FIV+ cats. FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs, it just means he's been exposed to a virus that he now has anti-bodies for. Please consider giving Reggie a chance, if you meet him, you will fall in love! He is truly an awesome cat. We currently aquired another FIV+ cat named Patches. Him and Reggie are now best buds! Maybe would would consider adopting both these great guys! If you are interested in adopting Reggie please fill out an adoption application online, you can find it on our website www.hopesafehouse.org .

H.O.P.E. (Help Orphaned Pets through Education) Safehouse, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer animal care organization, a ‘safehouse’ dedicated to the care and re-socialization of lost, injured, neglected, and abandoned pets. Through education and example, we extend the qualities of safety, shelter and compassion to all animals under our care, in our homes, on the streets and in the wild. We offer them HOPE.

Our Adoption Process...
All our canines are in foster home, so if you come to our office to see them . . . there won't be any here. You must first fill out an application before we can connect you with the foster mom & dad. Some of our available pets have a restricted adoption radius of approximately 75 miles in Wisconsin; less in Illinois. If you live outside this area, please visit a shelter or rescue closer to your area. If you are interested in adopting one of our critters and you are not in the Racine, WI area, it is advisable to send in the application quickly. This is particularly important when applying for puppies as they are adopted very quickly. Please note that we approve adoption applications on a first come first serve basis. There is a 24 hour processing time on all adoptions. You can find an application on our home page www.hopesafehouse.org . This application can be sent by e-mail, fax or the postal service.
