This dog is awesome!!! So handsome and such a sweetie! He was hit by a car and had to have a front leg amputated, but it doesn't slow him down a bit! He loves to play but also is a snuggler.
Basically, UnderDogs is run by just one woman who devotes her life to animals. We have a few volunteers and a handful of foster homes. Please be patient if you are contacting us....we have no staff. The animal care is very time consuming and sometimes there are not enough hours in the day. If you have ever saved a life and known the incredible joy that fills your heart, you know why we do this. It is the best feeling in the world.
Our pets are in foster homes, at our places of employment, our homes, whereever we can find a spot. So meeting a pet requires an appointment and some coordinating on our part. It is worth the extra effort. Dogs that get to spend time with a family rather than in a cage at a kennel are much more well adjusted.
Our Adoption Process...
We do have an adoption application, contract and certain requirements to adopt. However, we do take each and every adoption on an individual basis and try to make our decision based on what is best for the animal. There is an adoption fee to help with our vet expenses, and it will vary from pet to pet. We recieve NO funding from any source other than our own pockets, so obviously we could not continue to do this if we do not get at least partial reimbursement for the money we spend on care. No one associated with our rescue recieves ANY money for their time and efforts. No one is paid and we do this for the love of animals.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
UnderDogs has been operating for over six years. We take animals that are out of time at local kill shelters. Or animals with special issues or needs.....we have found homes for blind dogs, deaf dogs, handicapped dogs, old dogs, the list goes on and on. Of course, some of our pets have no problems, they were just unlucky enough to be taken to a kill shelter that has no space. And some of our pets are dropped off to us by owners who were not commited to a lifelong responsiblity when they got the pet. But all that said, we have found forever homes for over 1000 pets and the joy and happiness that comes from helping these furry faces is beyond words!
