Hobo was surrendered to us with Cookie and her 5 pups, on 4/16/08 by a local guy who had no money to take care of them. They were eating stale bread for food and were running free in a unsafe area. Hobo was born between 9/11/07-10/3/07 and is about 1 1/2 years old. Hobo weighs 44.7 pounds.

Hobo is living in a foster home in Ellijay since 1/09. Hobo is cheerful, playful and outgoing! Very good companion, friendly. He is crate trained and is working on housetraining. He is leash trained and basic obedience trained. He seemes to have already been trained in this when we got him. He rides well in the car. He may be timid in new situations but soon calms down. In his foster home, Hobo has been good with adult cats. He may show aggression to male dogs, but oh! does he love ladies!

In foster care, Hobo is crated at feeding time and likes to slep in his crate. He enjoys a cooked beef marrow bone. As a treat, he has a small piece or beef liver. He has been eating Purina Pro Plan or Purina One Chicken and Rice, about 2 cups twice a day.

Hobo is a medium size dog. He is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative and has been started on heartworm and flea preventative. Adoption fee is $145.00.

About Our Rescue Group...

Homeward Bound is a non profit, no-kill organization based in Gilmer County, Georgia which began in August 2000. We are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted companion animals, while actively seeking permanent homes through our adoption programs. We take in dogs and cats that are found as strays, owner surrenders and abandoned. We also take animals out of high kill shelters to prevent them from being euthanized. We have rescued and adopted out about 4,000 animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoptions every Saturday from 11-5 and every odd Sunday (1st, 3rd and 5th) at PetSmart, 860 Cobb Place Blvd., Kennesaw, GA 30144 (off of Barrett Parkway).

Our Adoption Process...

All dogs are spayed/neutered, current to age on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative, and started on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. Adoption fee for dogs are $145.00 cash or check.

All cats are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, FELV/FIV negative and started on flea preventative. Adoption fee is $110.00 cash or check.

Application review and approval is required prior to adopting. Adopters must be at least 21 years old.

We serve the Gilmer County/Ellijay area along with the Kennesaw/Atlanta, GA area.
