Nils has spent his whole life in a small cage in a commercial kennel. Nils was born 01/25/04 and weighs 16 pounds.

Nils has adjusted well to his foster home and gets along well with the other fluffs in the house. He has a hearty appetite and will finish eating the food left in his brothers' dishes if mom isn't watching. So far he has gotten along very well with foster mom and dad and other adult humans who have visited, although he can be a little skittish if approached unexpectedly and sudden noises will startle him.

Nils is doing fairly well with housebreaking but wears a belly band in the house most of the time "just in case." He is not familiar with a leash but mom will continue to work on that. One of his favorite things to do is sit outside in the sun or lay in the grass under a tree so a fenced in yard is important. Mom has even observed him playing "catch" by himself with some of the stuffed toys and chews. Although he was first required to sleep in a dog bed at night, he now gets to share the "big" bed with the other fluffs and humans. He still hasn't figured out how to jump up on the bed (or sofas) so mom must lift him up.
