Update: Walt is currently in foster care and here's what his foster mom has to say about this little sweetie! He is so cool, doesn't bark, waddles around after us, moves deliberately, playfully rubs his snout on things thens huffs, looks up like,"what?". He paced around all afternoon and evening, wore me out just to watch, finally he found his bed and napped for 15 minutes! There might be something going on in his spine, minor discomfort when he was faced with a couple of stairs and when I pick him up. We have learned to go slow and support his hips.He melts when I massage his back. I was a vet tech for years as well so I am thrilled to look after him. And my 15 yo daughter is tickled too. He is so happy, sleeps deep and snores, waddles around the house and yard like a rockstar. We had visitors today with their female dog and small kids. He was laid back, mildly interested and showed signs of a desire to play but I think he isn't quite 100%, sore back and a bit unsure about some things. And i have yet to hear him make a sound, no grunts or barks, ever! Anyway, I decided his demeanor is sorta like some rock stars I've met in my travels. He did growl and act tough when he met my neighbors little male dog, who is intact btw! OK, me and the rockstar are going out for a stroll....
Walt is an adorable Adult Tibetan spaniel ~13lbs. He needs a dental cleaning to get a better fix on his age. Walt is a little shy but very sweet. Walt qualifies for our senior discount adoption fee of $150.

Last Chance Ranch has been in operation for over ten years. In the Fall 2000 we asked the public for assistance and applied for our non-profit 501(c)3 status."LCR" rescues the old, the young, the injured, neglected, malnourished, abused, and forgotten. We accept all breeds: horses, ponies, drafts, donkeys, and mules. Recently Last Chance Ranch joined the ranks of small animal rescue to save at least a few of these "kill shelter" pets from such an undignified ending to their lives. With the acquisition of an additional 25 acres, LCR plans to build a 10 run kennel to house pets that are awaiting their forever families. This will also allow Last Chance Ranch to house small animals in emergency or humane seizure situations. LCR is available for Humane Law Enforcement and Animal Cruelty Investigations.
Adoption Fees for Dogs/Puppies Our fees range from $150 to $350 depending on medical procedures provided for this pet. The fee includes all necessary vaccines including DHPP+, Rabies, Bordetella, and the new Canine Influenza vaccine. These dogs are Heartworm/Lymes/Erlicha/AP tested, have received multiple wormers, heartworm prevention, Frontline/Advantage, and are microchipped.
This pet may have received other medical procedures, testing, surgeries, grooming that will necessitate a higher fee to cover these procedures. You will be provided with all medical records and certificates, a voucher for the Canine Influenza booster, informative DVD, leash, collar, starter packet of information. Your pre-paid microchip information will be provided after a 30 day trial period or after your new pet is spayed/neutered. While we hope all our dogs find their exact forever home the first time they get placed, sometimes it just doesn't work out. We give a 30 day trial period to make sure everyone is happy, but even after 6 months or 6 years, we are still here for you if you would ever need a home or help with your adopted pet. We also offer a lifetime of support and advice and training visits if necessary to help you work through any issues with your new adopted pet and your family. Average Costs *Office visit---$25-$55 *Rabies---$40 *Canine Influenza Vaccine---$30 *Multiple Worming---$30 *Heartworm/Lymes/Erlicha/AP testing---$45 *Heartworm Prevention & Frontline Protection---$15 *Spay/Neuter---$95-$220 *Dental Cleaning---$60-$120 *Microchip---$35 **Totals**--$375-$590 Our adoption fees help pay for the spaying/neutering, health care and food for rescued dogs, horses, cats and other companion animals that live at the rescue. If it seems high to you then you should reconsider adopting an animal as the cost of veterinary, preventative, and personal care over the life of an animal is not something to be taken lightly. Information on housetraining, compatibility, history, and temperament may not be known. We will post updated information as it becomes available.
Cats/kittens: $85 Fees cover all necessary vaccinations and worming, Felv/FIV test, Frontline/Advantage treatment, and micro-chip.
PLEASE NOTE visits with all pets listed are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Applications and vet references are required. Please visit our website's application page for a PDF form or an easy online form and apply to adopt a pet today! http://www.lastchanceranch.org/application-forms.html
