Pollyanna's story...
POLLYANNA's Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is LEADER OF THE BAND (Green) I'm a cat who does everything in a big way. I not only like to be in the middle of things - I like to lead the parade. I'm an adventurous cat, but I'll still make plenty of time to show you my affectionate side. I'm the demonstrative type, you might say. Want a cat who's brimming with confidence? That's me. Interesting Stuff About POLLYANNA: This pretty grey Tabby was recently returned to the shelter so she is understandably a little shy. Don't let that discourage you though because she has a very big heart. Once you bond with her she will warm up to you and become one of your most loyal friends. If you are familiar with one of the classic Pollyanna books you'll know that the character Pollyanna has an uplifting philosophy. Her philosophy of life centers on what she calls The Glad Game, an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding something to be glad about in every situation. Pollyanna, the cat, was definitely named appropriately because despite the fact that she was returned to the shelter, she has not let this change her attitude or demeanor and she has settled into shelter life while she patiently waits for her next adoption. Pollyanna is unsure of what to make of smaller children; therefore, she needs a home where only adults are present. She doesn't understand the noises that accompany small children and is not comfortable in this type of environment. Pollyanna is fairly independent and is not one to constantly need attention. She likes to be with people and will seek you out when she feels you are in need of some attention but if she feels you are happy, she is content just to hang around nearby. Pollyanna's amethyst yellow eyes are vibrant and striking. You can't help but notice how lovely she is! Her tail is striped like a raccoon which gives her an adorable charm. Her coloring is primarily a smokey gray which is a great contrast to her phenomenal eyes. Pollyanna is looking for someone kind and patient to give her lots of love and affection. Although Pollyanna is extremely loving, she needs an owner that has experience with cats and knows how to read their moods. Pollyanna at times can be a bit unpredictable especially when she needs her space. People familiar with this behavior will understand when she is in this mode and can respond accordingly to her. Pollyanna really is worth the effort. She so desperately wants to love and be loved. Come visit her today and spend time getting to know her. Your kindness will be rewarded with meows of happiness and loving looks! Pollyanna is waiting to meet you at the CAT Shelter. js updated 2/11/09

About Our Shelter...
The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, no-kill cat shelter with its own full service on-site veterinary hospital. CAT rescues, rehabilitates and places the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, rescue groups and veterinary offices to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. CAT saves close to 3,000 lives per year and relies heavily on the support of the public and generous volunteers. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us save lives!

1 FIV/FELV Cat $60
The adoption fee includes:
Spay/Neuter
Testing for FELV and FIV
Microchip (including registration)
FVRCP and Leukemia vaccinations
Treatment for parasites (fleas, worms)

The Cat Adoption Team requires all potential adoptive families to meet with a trained adoption counselor before adopting a cat. Families must complete an application and sign a contract, which outlines our organization's adoption guidelines. Individuals who are interested in adopting a cat or kitten are welcome to call our facility to discuss these guidelines before visiting our adoption center.

In order to give our kittens a strong, healthy start in life, and to minimize behavior problems by assuring that they are fully weaned and litter box trained, we do not adopt out any kitten until they are at least 8-10 weeks old.

Cats or kittens that test positive for leukemia or FIV can still live relatively long and healthy lives in an indoor, stress-free environment. They must, however, be adopted to homes that either have no other cats or already have asymptomatic leukemia- or FIV-positive cats. These diseases cannot be passed on to humans; they can, however, be transmitted through blood to healthy cats. Therefore, these cats must be placed in indoor-only home.
