Hello Cat Lovers... My name is Honey, and I'm the proud mother of Katie and Winston. I had two other kids, too, but they found a forever family. It's a long story... Katie and Winston and I are North Carolina transplants. We were in what people call a high-kill shelter. You don't even want to know what they do to cats there. Luckily for us, a wonderful rescue got us out just as we were running out of time and drove us all the way to Maryland and the Howard County Cat Club. We're safe now... I have to admit that after all we've been through, I'm afraid of people I don't know. But with humans I know and trust, I'm very gentle and affectionate. And I love Katie and Winston, and I'm so proud of them. Winston is so handsome! He's the kind of guy who follows people he likes everywhere and rolls over on his back for belly rubs as soon as he sees as human friend. Katie is our bravest family member. She also has the loudest purr. She loves having her neck scratched and curling up with a person she likes. We are former barn cats, and we really want to go to an indoor/outdoor home. We'd be happy in a barn or garage home, too, as long as we can stay together. These pictures were taken when we were in the shelter in North Carolina. Come back soon to see photos of us in our foster home. We'll look a lot happier when we're not surrounded by bars! Oops! I just noticed that our foster 'mom' has added a picture of Winston in our foster home.

About Our Rescue Group...
The Howard County Cat Club is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit no kill cat rescue. Our mission is to keep cats out of shelters because we believe that no cat deserves to live in a cage, or to be put to death because it is no longer wanted or in the way. We operate a behavior hotline to help cats and their human companions resolve their differences. We help people place their no-longer-wanted cats in loving new homes, and we foster cats in our "group home" when they have no place else to go.

Come Meet Our Pets...
SPECIAL NOTICE: AS SUNDAY APRIL 12 IS EASTER, WE WILL NOT BE HAVING AN ADOPTION SHOW AT HIGHLAND GROOMERY ON THIS DATE. WE HAVE RESCHEDULED THAT SHOW FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 26. OUR SHOW AT PETCO ON APRIL 19 IS STILL ON AS SCHEDULED.

We have adoption shows on the second Sunday of every month from noon-3 p.m. at the Highland Groomery, 13401 Clarksville Pike Highland, MD 20777. Call 410-730-5511for directions. On the third Sunday of every month, we're at the Columbia PetCo store on Dobbin Road. Please call or write to us before you come to the show, so we can make sure the cat you want to meet will be there! Our cats also enjoy meeting potential forever families by appointment at our group home.
Our Adoption Process...
Potential forever families must complete an application and sign a contract. Our contract stipulates that you will NOT declaw and that the cat will be returned to us if things don't work out. Cats who are adopted together must be returned together -- they may not be separated. Our contract also stipulates that you will feed both canned and dry food -- we do not want our cats to have dry food-only diets. We DO adopt to safe, responsible indoor/outdoor homes. And we almost always have ferals who must be relocated to barn homes.
