Charla's story...
Charla is a very fortunate cat since P.A.W.S. rescued her from River Rouge Pound, it is very rare for any animal going into that pound to come out especially the felines.

Charla was rescued along with her baby Caitlyn, Caityly has been adopted.

Charla prefers companionship with people rather than other cats. Charla doesn't mind being picked & held and of course petted.

Charla has tested negative for feline aids and leukemia, spayed, up to date on vaccines.

Adoption fee: $60 cash only.

To apply, please send an email to: info@pawsofmichigan.com.

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

A volunteer will review your application and contact you ONLY if you are approved or if further clarification is required. We will make every attempt to contact approved applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received.

Please understand that by answering the questions does not guarantee the adoption of the pet, nor are you obligated to adopt the pet.

P.A.W.S. adopts to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis. If you currently own a pet or have a history of pet ownership, you must provide a vet reference for your application to be processed. Preference is given to applications with prior pet experience and vet references.

We are an all-volunteer organization, and regret that we do not have the resources to contact applicants that are not approved. Please do not contact us to check on the status of your application - it just slows down our ability to process applications. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

- We ask for your patience as we review your application. P.A.W.S. receives several each day and cannot respond to every one individually.

- Approved applicants are based on best fit, not first submitted. P.A.W.S. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY APPLICANT, so please understand that it is within our discretion to make those decisions on behalf of our animals.

Keep in mind that we depend 100% on volunteers, most of whom have full-time jobs, so we ask for your understanding as we do the best we can in the endless effort to find homes for these deserving animals!

WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER, ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE IN ONE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS HOME.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE ANIMAL!

About Our Rescue Group...
P.A.W.S. (Precious Animal Welfare Society) of Michigan is a 501 (c) (3), all-volunteer group that promotes the humane, compassionate, and responsible treatment of all animals. It is our mission to protect and care for homeless animals by placing them with loving foster families until compatible permanent homes can be found, and to engage in benevolent and charitable activities to support this goal. We are dedicated to lowering the number of animals needlessly euthanized each year in our community by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals and in educating the public on the importance of responsible animal guardianship. Working in alliance with other rescue groups and animal welfare agencies we seek to develop a network of like-minded individuals who strive to eliminate animal suffering and create an animal-friendly community.

All of the animals in our program have received age-appropriate vaccines, and are surgically sterilized between 3 and 4 months of age. All cats/kittens are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, and dogs are tested for heartworm if they are old enough. The adoption fees for our animals help defray the cost of these, as well as any other required, veterinary services.
