ESCURELis a gorgeous Tabby with medium length fur. Her fur is flowy and soft because Escurel tries hard to keep up appearances. She is a great groomer and seems to always be picture ready. Her coloring is a combination of brown, gray, and tan which nature matched exquisitely with yellow'sh green eyes. She definitely has the markings of a Tabby. According to Wikipedia, Tabby cat is a cat with a distinctive coat that features stripes, dots, or swirling patterns. Tabbies are often mistakenly assumed to be a breed of cat. In fact, the tabby pattern is a naturally occurring feature that may be the original colouration of the domestic cat's distant ancestors. Tabby colour is found in many breeds of cat, as well as among the general 'moggy' (mixed-breed or mongrel) population. The tabby usually has an M mark on its forehead. The tabby is not a breed of cat, nor is it a coat colour. It's simply a coat pattern. It can show up in combination with a variety of coat colours. As cat personalities go, the beautiful girl you see here falls in the mushy end of the spectrum. Her name is ESCUREL but her previous people called her Squirrel which she might prefer. Comments from her previous humans were that she followed them from room to room and always wanted to be with them, be petted and sit on laps. We were also told that she is playful, affectionate, prefers a home without dogs, and is more amenable with adults and older children. Escurel just seems more comfortable with older children vs younger children. Unfortunately her previous owners preferred pussycats more in the aloof direction so Escurel wasn't a good match for them. So If you seek an independent, aloof type look elsewhere but if you want an affectionate, social, loving, sweet feline who craves attention and lots of pets, a true full time companion then Escurel is your gal. Come see her and experience the warmth and beauty of this wonderful cat. Give her a permanent home and she'll give many years of love and affection. Escurel is waiting to meet you at the Tigard Petsmart store. Adoption hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 or by appointment. Come meet all the wonderful adoptable cats and kittens from Cat Adoption Team! js updated 02/20/09 We offer a 20% discount on adult cat adoptions for senior adopters (62 and older).

The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, no-kill cat shelter with its own full service on-site veterinary hospital. CAT rescues, rehabilitates and places the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, rescue groups and veterinary offices to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. CAT saves close to 3,000 lives per year and relies heavily on the support of the public and generous volunteers. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us save lives!

The Cat Adoption Team requires all potential adoptive families to meet with a trained adoption counselor before adopting a cat. Families must complete an application and sign a contract, which outlines our organization's adoption guidelines. Individuals who are interested in adopting a cat or kitten are welcome to call our facility to discuss these guidelines before visiting our adoption center.
In order to give our kittens a strong, healthy start in life, and to minimize behavior problems by assuring that they are fully weaned and litter box trained, we do not adopt out any kitten until they are at least 8-10 weeks old.
Cats or kittens that test positive for leukemia or FIV can still live relatively long and healthy lives in an indoor, stress-free environment. They must, however, be adopted to homes that either have no other cats or already have asymptomatic leukemia- or FIV-positive cats. These diseases cannot be passed on to humans; they can, however, be transmitted through blood to healthy cats. Therefore, these cats must be placed in indoor-only home.
