Taco's story...
Please contact Kerri (fox_2006@etczone.com) for more information about this pet.

We do not adopt any dog out unaltered. ALL dogs/puppies will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. There are NO exceptions.

Taco had one owner before coming to rescue.  He was not well socialized and would bite.  He loved men, so he went to a foster family where the man could work with him daily.

Taco has adjusted slowly but he is doing great.  Both adults in his foster home (male and female) can handle him comfortably now.  He walks on/off a lead very well.  He seems to be housetrained to go outside and he can use a potty pad.  He still doesn't care for kids.  Our 10 year old has a better chance of picking him up successfully than our 8 year old.  We are working on that though.  We have them sit on the floor and call for him.  He gets treats if he climbs on their laps without showing teeth.  Eventually, he will stop this completely.  He has made awesome progress so please don't let this be a reason not to meet him.

We do realize Taco is going to need an adult household.  He is a beautiful and sweet little boy.  It isn't his fault he was not socialized and visitors tormented him to watch him act up.  From what we were told, they thought it was funny.  Taco and his foster family do not find it a a bit funny.   He is now limited on his rehoming options.

If you are willing to give this little man a second chance, please come and meet him.  He is tiny and sassy.  We will ask you to come meet him before we go any further to be sure he will like you and you will like him.

About Our Rescue Group...
Indiana Happy Tails Rescue Inc. was formed to assist animals in finding forever homes. We do our best to match each pet to a forever home.

The pet overpopulation problem is a serious issue. Not only do we spay and neuter every animal adopted out before it leaves, we also hold a low cost spay/neuter program monthly.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our rescue animals live in foster homes. We do not have a shelter-type facility. They are placed in foster homes to learn to behave in a family setting. If you would like to meet one of our dogs (or cats) please call for an appointment.

Appointments are available in the day/evening and during week and weekends.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fees vary per animal. The fees range from $125 to $300 for fully vetted and spayed/neutered pets.

Requirements vary per animal as well.

We do have adoption applications as well as a contract stating the specific requirements of each animal.

ALL animals regardless of size or age will be spayed/neutered before leaving our foster homes.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We do not have set limits on our adoption areas. As long as we are able to conduct a home visit, or find another organization willing to conduct a home visit for us, we can adopt to any area.
