Lennon's story...
Please contact Harriet (hszucker@mac.com) for more information about this pet.

All you need is love....

We were so confused as to his breed that we DNA tested him.  70% Am. Bulldog, 30% Rottie!

' All YOU NEED IS LOVE '.........LENNON.....LISTEN HERE
Here is our ' beautiful , beautiful. beautiful boy '
We are hoping his story will strike a chord in someones heart. He is a special dog. He is gorgeous , soft and cuddly. He is also deaf. Lennon does not realize that as he acts like any other hearing dog. They listen to you, but the do so by reading your face and body posture and hand signals. A very special bond is formed between a deaf dog and their human. It is a learning experience, one of compassion and knowledge. A book on American Sign Language gives all the signs and it is fun to learn and teach. Did you know you can sign the word water, food , bath, ball , its OK, and cookie ? The dogs can learn to understand these and more .

There are huge rewards in adopting a deaf dog and there is a whole network of people to help you. They are like any other dog , one just communicates with them differently.

Do you hear this Lennon's song ...he is singing from his heart.
Help him. ' he needs somebody and not just anybody '

The lyric ' all you need is Love is True ' but really he is just waiting to love you.......

Cute ice cream and everybody loving Lennon was pulled from a high-kill shelter. Surrendered at 9 mos for 'allergies' WE think it was because 'he did not listen' How could he?? He is deaf! They never told the shelter he was deaf, so one knew until he just watched and watched us and we could not resist taking his out of the cage to meet him. So cute and so loving already learning his cues!
And he loves to play....... and then cuddle and kiss. He is around 55 lbs now and will be two in February
He will be a great partner. the only thing that is different from other is that he cannot hear, but never . He has no clue he is different. He is super aware happy go lucky guy. He will make you will smile!

About Our Rescue Group...
Red Hook Dog Rescue is not a shelter. We started off doing rescue and moved into training. (A Better Dog, Training and Consulting, APDT# 62321) Our main objective is to help keep your dog in your home through training and management.

We know this is not always possible, so we can help you re-home your dog. It would be ideal if the dog could remain in your home until a foster or placement is found, otherwise we require a financial contribution to cover boarding and medical costs.

We get to know our dogs very well and take great pride in matching the right dog with the right family. Fosters, volunteers, sponsers and contributions welcome. Helps us help those who are really in need

There is also an adoption contract to sign. I usually respond to inquiries within a day or so.
