BIO: I don't know for sure what this boy dealt with prior to being rescued, but it must have been terrible. His body and face are covered in scars, the tip of one ear is missing, and the tip of his tail is twice broken. Regardless of his past, Jackson is easily the most affectionate dachshund I've had the pleasure of fostering! He gets along great with the dogs and will bond very closely to his human. He follows me all over the house and sleeps with me under the covers at night. When we go out for walks or to petsmart he gets tons of compliments on his color and his calm, laid back personality. Because of Jackson's limited vision he doesn't deal well with change. He is also very scared of fast moving children and should not be exposed to them. I do put Jackson in a large crate with another calm dog while I'm out simply because he will look for me constantly and bark at the front door until I return. When left in the crate he will go straight to his bed and curl up to go to sleep. When we're all lounging in the afternoon he will corral all of the toys and nylabones on the big dog bed. After chewing on his current favorite, he'll jump on the couch and curl up as close to me as he can get! He would be happy to spend all day in your lap and he needs someone who will lavish him with love and attention! If you're looking for a total lover who can snuggle and cuddle the day away, then this boy is for you!!
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
