Rex's Story...
I rescued Rex a year and a half ago. He was 8 months old when he came to me. He is very gentle and kind and has a coat like silk. He is the longest Basset that I've ever seen! He is still very young in his ways and needs reminding about going pp in the house sometimes. He has been crated at night and when we go out. He loves to run around the yard and do houndy things! He has a great bay and is not afraid to use his voice if he gets excited, but is not a barker. Rex gets along well with other dogs, cats and loves my 5 children. He sleeps in bed with them. About Our Rescue Group...
Barkaritaville has been helping rescue in Mid-Tennessee for two years now. We have succeeded when faced with adversity and turned lemons into lemonade! Come join us as we continue our quest to bring the animal overpopulation issue to the forefront of the political and private sectors of our great state of Tennessee and surrounding areas. While this is not a place to whine about the problems, it is a place to help form solutions and to band together as one voice for the animals while carrying out our important rescue and rehoming work. Our Adoption Process...
Our adoptable pets are listed on various websites. There are links on those sites to www.barkaritaville.org where our adoption application is located. You may fill out the form and it will be automatically submitted for our review. Your references will be verified and a home visit required. We require a completed application before your meeting with the pet. Our adoption fees vary, but are usually $200-250 which includes spay, neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping/registration and the first month of pet health insurance. Professional long-distance transport is an additional expense to the adopter.
