Little Phoebe was rescued when we received a call from a DWP worker who had been leaving food for her for 6 weeks while she fought to survive on the streets of downtown. She was very afraid but we managed to get her to safety. Since then she has blossomed. What an incredibly sweet girl. Even with everything she has been thru she is gentle and sweet with everyone.
When alone and on the streets she was injured. We don't know how but her pelvis was broken. It healed on its own but in a way that the bones fused together too closely and it is sometimes difficult for stool to pass. So to help her Phoebe does need to receive daily stool softeners in her food. This is a very easy process and is not expensive. It is a little extra needed for her but the love and companionship she gives back is so rewarding it is all worth it.
