Quinn's story...
Hi - I'm Sputnik (formal name of Quinn)! I'm about 10 months old (12/1/2009) and I love to go, go, go!! I have some Hound and Terrier in me, so I love to roam the yard sniffing for anything and everything and I do like to dig!

I have discovered the fun of finding and carrying around toads - though my foster Mom keeps taking them from me when I bring them in the house - really don't understand that 'cause I like my friends to come inside and nap with me after all our playing!

I love to engage the other foster dogs in a game of chase - I prefer that over wrestling!

I am doing better at gaining some confidence - but I will always be a bit skittish of new things or quick actions. I love giving and getting attention from my foster Mom. But quick movements or simple changes in the house make me rather nervous. (She put this "container" in the living area and I still avoid it - whereas Cyrano the goof-head just jumps and crashes all over it!)

I need a home that understands my little concerns and doesn't expect my skittish nature to go away with a few weeks of training - it is really just part of who I am. I should still be introduced to new things and taken places - but I'm not your typical comfortable-with-everything pup. I do love going out and about, but always need to have a secure collar and leash.

I walk pretty well on a leash, and I'm crate-trained and house-broken. I have started basic obedience and I do okay with it, but some patience is needed as I get "concerned" about what you want from me.

I would do best in an adult only home - since anything unusual or quick can cause me to run away! I like kids – but on my terms and definitely with a “guardian” around to ensure that they don’t spook me – as I might just try to bolt!
I do love to give kisses and get loves and hugs - after I've had time to run off all my energy. I can even do this full-body wiggle thing - tongue included!

I've been spayed, dewormed and I'm up to date with my vaccinations. I'm also on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are an all volunteer dog rescue organization started in 2002. Our mission is to provide safe refuge for stray, abused, neglected and owner-surrendered dogs. In addition, our organization works to rehabilitate dogs (medically and/or behaviorally) to aid in finding them carefully screened permanent, safe and loving homes where they will live as companion animals. We also educate the community and promote involvement with regard to animal welfare issues.
