Gracie's story...
Gracie was adopted over 4 years ago to what we thought was her forever family. Due to financial reasons her family has to move and can no longer work her into their current situation. She is very good with all kids and all people. She loves going for rides in the car and long walks. She would be a great addition to another family. Gracie is used to being home for about 6-7 hours while her family is at work and has never had an accident. She knows sit, stay, leave it, off, lay down, all the basics. She loves to play on the beach and leap through the waves! She is a large dog but not as big as most people would think being a Rottie mix. She is a big lover and will love to climb on the couch and she will love to sleep with anyone. Gracie thinks she is a lap doggy. She is currently taking a basic obedience class with her foster mom and working on socializing with other dogs at proper paws university! She is extremely obedient and LOVES to play! She does not get along well with other dogs and cats so a only pet home is required. EST DOB 2003 All dogs are kept in foster homes and are not at our shelter. If you are interested in meeting this dog you must first fill out an application, you can access one on www.hopesafehouse.org. Obedience classes are paid for by Hope Safehouse and are a mandatory part of the adoption package.

Our Adoption Process...
All our canines are in foster home, so if you come to our office to see them . . . there won't be any here. You must first fill out an application before we can connect you with the foster mom & dad. Some of our available pets have a restricted adoption radius of approximately 75 miles in Wisconsin; less in Illinois. If you live outside this area, please visit a shelter or rescue closer to your area. If you are interested in adopting one of our critters and you are not in the Racine, WI area, it is advisable to send in the application quickly. This is particularly important when applying for puppies as they are adopted very quickly. Please note that we approve adoption applications on a first come first serve basis. There is a 24 hour processing time on all adoptions. You can find an application on our home page www.hopesafehouse.org . This application can be sent by e-mail, fax or the postal service.

The adoption fee for cats is $58. (Adopt two felines at the same time and the second adoption is only $40) Dogs are $88.These fees include the following:

Vet check
30-day health guarantee (valid only at our clinics)
Spay/neuter
Microchip
Leash and collar
New pet packet including food, coupons, toys and treats
Mandatory Training classes (available in your area)
One year subscription to Critter Quarterly newsletter

Have the consent of all adults living in the household
All members of the household must meet/interact with the desired pet before adoption ican be finalized

Placing the animals into quality forever homes is our top priority. We want to recognize and keep these good homes a part of the H.O.P.E. Safehouse family. After the initial adoption fee of $58 for cats, $88 for dogs (or $98 if adopting two cats at the same time), adoptive families qualify to adopt future companion animals at no additional cost, provided however, the adoptive family completes an adoption application for the selected pet and continues to meet the required adoption criteria.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
HOPE takes in animals that have been abandoned, abused or injured, give them the medical attention they require, and re-home them through adoption. HOPE does not take animals in from the general public, but rather ones that meet the above criteria, or are on death row at the humane societies or animal shelters
