NIXIE's story...
Nixie is sweet & fun and would make a great pet!! Miss Nixie is a hoot!!

Never will you meet a more adventurous, or outgoing dog in all your life. Nixie is fearless and will follow the dogs in her foster home on all kinds of excursions. She adores swimming (which is why she is wet in her photos) and will chase sticks all day long if you would throw them.

She is large so a large fenced in yard with swimming is a must. Nixie's ideal home is one that is as active as she is and will spend lots of time with her hiking, swimming, etc. She is very smart and minds well.

This animal can be visited every weekend at TEARStown.

About Our Rescue Group...
TEARS, The Emergency Animal Rescue Service, is a not-for-profit Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals dedicated to the rescue of injured animals, the investigation of cruelty and the prosecution thereof. We are one of the few organizations in Central Alabama operating on a 24 hour a day, seven day a week basis. We are also one of the only organizations which extends help to ALL animals, including wildlife, reptiles and livestock and specializing in horses. Our incorporation allows us to function through out the state of Alabama.

TEARStown is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.. Location in Birmingham Alabama, near Pleasant Grove.
Our Adoption Process...
A pre-screen of potential adoptees is required by completing a Pre-Adoption form on our website.

Our adoption fee is $105.00 for our rescues. The adoption fee helps us defray some of the cost of medical treatment the animals have already received.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
