More About DazeeDuke04-20-09 DazeeDuke is 38 lbs. of pure love. She may be 7 years old, may be younger, may be older. Her teeth are quite good. The rest of her body has had a hard life. She is quite underweight, ribs showing, backbone visible. She walks great on the leash, rode calmly on the front seat of the vehicle, dozed off & enjoyed the ride to rescue. Someone has loved this fur-girl & it shows in her excellent manners. She may be housebroken. Dazee has a Rabies vaccination. She is on heartworm preventative. She has an irregular heartbeat yet Doc does not seem that concerned. We don't know her background so an irregular heartbeat may be what she has lived with for some time. We will wait a few days, update her other vaccinations. Her body is full of tumors, some appear to be fatty in nature. The others are a bit hard & irregular. We will not ask for a biopsy as we will not put her through chemotherapy. We are going to let her gain some weight, be happy, lie in the sunshine as she desires, be in the house, lounge among the pack. We will post updates as they become available, her likes & her dislikes. Our updates will help you know if this pet will be suitable for your home. This fur-kid is in our Senior Fur-ever & Always Program. Our program is patterned after Love A Golden's Senior Life Program. If you adopt this fur-kid, your original adoption donation is perpetual. You may adopt another appropriate senior (10 years & older) fur-kid from us after this fur-kid passes to the Rainbow Bridge, becoming an Angel Dog. 04-22 DazeeDuke is doing fine with the other fur-kids. She has a playful side, seems so happy being in the small dog play yard romping about with Max. It's quite possible she may not be quite as old as she looks. Her playfulness certainly is not what we would expect of an ancient pet. Of course, being out of a shelter, in a home environment once again, even if a pack situation, may give her joy once again. PM - DazeeDuke joined all the fur-kids in the small dog yard for social time. She definitely has been a house pet. She headed for the front door with the pack, found a large Kuranda bed in the kitchen area, promptly claimed it & the blankie on it as her own. Show her a leash, she dances on her front paws. "Please take me for a ride, oh please oh please." She MAY well be housebroken. We will observe her for a few more days. -------------------------------- The adoption fee ranges from $175 to $325. The fee is based upon veterinary care, age & size of dog. The higher adoption fee on the younger small dogs helps care for the older dogs that take longer to find fur-ever homes. Senior citizens and disabled receive a discount. We also offer a discount to those in uniform keeping us safe. Land of the free because of the brave. Our adoption process begins with the e-mail or phone call to us. Please be prepared to furnish your complete name, address, telephone number, your veterinarian contact information & at least two personal references. We will then call you to ask a series of questions. contact: 7 Bells Sanctuary 660-668-3567 |
