Bones's story...
Bones was found as a skinny stray but wherever he was before, he had time to learn a few basic commands. Around 2 years old and Rottweiler mix is our best guess but he is only about 45 pounds. Bones is good with other dogs and children but shows a little too much interest in the cat. He has a super nice character and is very smart, obedient and quick to learn new things. Bones walks well on the leash and is eager to please. If you are looking for a great companion, Bones will fit the bill.

About Our Rescue Group...
Kiko Dog Rescue and Adoptions is a small non-profit rescue group located west of Montreal near the Quebec/Ontario border and is named after a little black Pug rescued from a puppy mill. We are dedicated to helping dogs that have found themselves homeless, whether they are from a pound, puppy mill or a home surrender, by placing them in the loving forever homes they so deserve. All dogs that come into our rescue receive whatever veterinary care they require, including everything from dentistry to surgery to help correct an uncomfortable or painful medical condition. In many cases, the adoption fee is not enough to cover a dog's vet bill. If you would like to help us by making a donation towards our vet bill, please click on the Paypal button. Thank you!

Our dogs are not kept at a shelter. We rely on the generosity of foster families. If you are not ready for a permanent adoption and would like to consider fostering on a temporary basis, please contact us for more information. Food and veterinary care is provided by Kiko—all you need to provide is a warm loving haven.

News
Piper is a 12+ year-old Poodle who spent her whole life as a puppy-producing machine. No longer able to make money for the puppy miller, she was discarded in a very neglected state. Piper will need surgery for her badly decayed teeth, the worse the vet has ever seen, and will probably lose them all. There is also a nasty tumour growing outside of her body, pretty hard to miss since she was nothing more than skin and bones when she arrived, that will also need to be removed. If you would like to contribute towards her vet bills, please click on the "Donate" button. Once she has had her surgeries, she will need a very special retirement home. If you are interested in giving her the loving home she so deserves, please contact the Kiko ladies to discuss this further. All Piper is looking for is a warm bed and lap to call her own—not much to ask after all she's been through her entire life. Kiko Dog Rescue currently has many great dogs available for adoption. From small to large, puppies to seniors, calm to active, and everything in between. We take pride in our thorough approach to adoptions and do our very best to ensure the most appropriate match. There has been an unusually large number of dogs coming into rescue for the past couple of months. If you love dogs but are unable to make a commitment at this time, please don't forget that we are always in need of temporary foster homes in the Montreal area. For more information, e-mail us at kikodogrescue@live.com.

Kiko Dog Rescue is holding an Adoption day at Hydrant Rouge Specialty Pet Boutique at 64 Rue Sainte-Anne, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue on Saturday February 20th from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Come see some of our dogs and chat with a volunteer. So see all our dog looking for a home, go to www.kiko.petfinder.com. We are always in need of foster homes in the Montréal area. For more info email us at KikoDogRescue@live.com and/or KikoDogRescue@hotmail.com
Bring your dog for Nail clipping during this time; all proceeds will go directly to Kiko.

Our Adoption Process...
If you are interested in adopting a Kiko dog, please e-mail us. You will be asked to complete an adoption application so that we can get to know you better. A home visit is also mandatory, often with the dog that interests you. Our adoption fee is $400 and all our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, defleaed, dewormed*, vaccinated, sterilized and also tested for heartworm and lyme disease. *Please note that puppies adopted at a young age may require ongoing deworming for up to six months. Although this is a relatively inexpensive treatment, Kiko is unable to cover this and will only take care of deworming while the puppy is under the care of the rescue.

Our Featured Pet...
Bones has been very patiently waiting for his forever home for some time now. This 40-pound Rottweiler mix was originally found as a stray. He is now a happy and confident dog who is very sweet and listens well. Not too big and not too small, Bones might look imposing but he doesn't have a mean "bone" in his body. Please consider applying for Bones—you may be surprised when you meet him.

Donate a Bed
Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.
