Meet our Unknown Torti This tortie was found stray in Des Moines and has an APE microchip. She was held at animal control for a week and Des Moines and was not claimed. APE has assisted shelters in over eight counties in Central Iowa for over five years. Unfortunately, we had a computer crash and have not been able to find this kitty’s hard copy records yet. As there is over 6000 to look thorough. The previous adopter have broken their adoption agreement ,as they are require to notify APE if their pet would ever be lost or stolen. She is a nice cat with a good disposition. She seems to like dogs, cats and people. The adoption fee set for this cat is $65. June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. This cat’s adoption fee has been reduced to $25 during the month of June!
Adoption Information:
Please remember that every animal available for adoption through an A.P.E.-affiliated organization is fully-vetted for its age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested; all cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FELUK/FIV). All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every dog and cat is vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to lining up an appointment to visit the animal(s) at the animal's home.
For more information on our adoption procedures, (such as requiring adopters to travel to central Iowa to pick the animal up when approved to adopt as A.P.E. does not ship animals or meet people half way) or to obtain a pre-adoption questionnaire to become eligible to adopt, please visit our website's Adoption Page.
