Hi there!!!!  My name is Shooter.  I am a very happy, agreeable fellow.....very happy to be out of the pound, healthy and loving my foster home and all the pups I have to play with here.  I am a very friendly guy with people and other dogs.  I love playing with toys and wrestling and chasing with the other dogs.  But there is another side to me.  I am a big snuggler.  I just like nothing better than to snuggle into my foster mom's chair with her or hide deep under the bed covers and pillows in the hopes that she will forget to put me in my crate....sometimes I win!  I can't wait for a home all my own where I can snuggle in the bed every night....I just love napping the the bed with my special person.  Sometimes mom says I can be a adventerous fellow.  Once, I got stuck under the tool shed digging out a rat (WHAT!!!  I'm a DACHSHUND and there are no badgers around here).  And once, I found a knothole in the fence and tried to chewed it apart to get to the sprinkler on the other side (I just love playing in the sprinkler).  So, I can't go out the doggie door by myself too much anymore.....mom has ears like a Doxie and if she hears me barking too much or hears too much quiet, she comes checking on me pretty fast.  She is very nosey.   I am an independent fellow and like to explore outside, and mom says I can be tone deaf if I am on the trail of something (like rogue squirrels or escaped squeaky toys) or listening to something interesting, so I think I might enjoy some obedience training with very tasty treats...lots of tasty treats!!! 

Now that I have finished my heartworm treatment, my foster brother is so happy to have me back up to full speed so we can chase and play and tumble all around the yard.  We just love racing around the yard and tumbling each other over.  I would love a backyard of my own and maybe a doggie buddy to go with it!!!  I'm waiting for my special family to come find me!!!  Until then....I think I hear a sprinkler running.......
