Ranger's story...
hello my name is Ranger. I am about a 1 year old neutered male. I came in as a stray on 4-15-09. I am a good boy but a little shy at first. I am good with other cats. I am looking for a quiet loving forever home. I am current on my Rabies and distemper vaccinations. I have been tested negative for FIV & Leukemia. My adoption fee is $50. If you are interested in me you can go to our website www.adamscountyhumanesociety.org fill out an application on line and submit it to get pre approved if you like.

Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are required to fill out a pre adoption questionnaire. ACHS has the right to reject any application. It does not matter your distance from our shelter, if you are interested you can fill out the application, after aproval you can meet the animal of your choice and we can figure out if it is a good match for you and your life style together. If you are adopting a dog and you have other dogs we would require you to bring your dog to make sure your current dog and your potential new dog will get along. If all this goes well then you may adopt your new furry child. The cost to adopt a dog is $100.00. If the dog or puppy is not spayed/neutered already there will be an additional $100 deposit. The deposit is
refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. The cost to adopt a cat is $50.00 if the cat is spayed/neutered or $25.00 with a $50 deposit if still intact. The deposit is refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. If the cat
or dog is still intact, the adopter agrees to have the animal spayed/neutered within 30 days, if a kitten or puppy are to young then you will have 90 days. An adoption application can be downloaded. For further information, please call the shelter during business hours. When coming to pick up your new adopted pet please bring your own collar and leash for dogs. Please bring your own cat carrier for cats. Thank you.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are the Humane Society for Adams County in Wisconsin. We are a small Humane Society who gets most of our funding and supplies from donations. We have had many changes since February of 2008. We have a new board of directors, new management as well as a whole new staff. We have added an addition to the cat room with money from a donor as well as many other changes. We had enough money to put the addition up but not for anything inside we needed like stainless steel cages to help keep germs down in our facility to keep healthier animals and other items. We will have to depend on donations for any other items we may need. We do not euthanize for space. If we get over crowded we work with several reputable rescues to help our animals. Come down to our shelter and get a tour.
