I am a HAPPY girl!

$100 adoption fee. Fully vetted. Sweet girl seeking loving family.

UPDATE 3/11/2010

Penny is the happiest, silliest and most expressive dog I have met.  She blended very quickly into our family.  Within 30 minutes of being introduced to our 11 year old Cardigan Welch Corgi, they were drinking out of the same small water bowl at the same time, as I had not yet put out a larger water dish.  Her foster family consists of human mom and dad, 11 year old male corgi and a 5 year old girl with special needs who is non-verbal.  Penny gets on delightfully with all.  When Penny wants to play and her senior dog brother doesn't feel like playing, Penny lays down on her side and whines, pouts and wiggles on her side to get closer to her dog brother so she can nose him and say, 'Come on, play with me.'

Penny does have a tendency to not realize how big she is.  As such, she would fit in best with a family having children age 5 or above.  A family with children under 5 would need to be good with discipline, so Penny understands she needs to watch her step around little ones.

Penny walks great on a Gentle Leader and loves her walks.  She will go to her bed when asked to do so.  She will also go to her kennel when asked.  She is very expressive with her face and has pouting down to a science.  We couldn't be more blessed having such a wonderful foster dog.  She even tells her foster family when it is time to go up to bed, as she's typically the first ready for bedtime.

About Our Rescue Group...
Mastiff Hope is a rescue organization established to place stray or abandoned Mastiffs in adoptive homes that provide each and every Mastiff with a caring and loving forever home. Mastiff Hope serves primarily the midwestern states (Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri), however with the right circumstances, we will consider other states, as well.

Mastiff Hope is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization composed of all volunteers who contribute their time, knowledge, vehicles, homes, and most importantly, their hearts to providing for the care and needs of this wonderful breed. To learn more about Mastiff Hope, please visit our website at www.mastiffhope.org.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Mastiff Hope does not have a shelter location - our volunteers foster all of our dogs in our own homes, with our own families, making sure that each dog learns what it means to be a part of the family. To learn more about a particular Mastiff, contact the person listed with that dog's description.
Our Adoption Process...
Thank you for your interest in adopting a Mastiff through Mastiff Hope. We request a donation of up to $350, depending on the age and condition of the Mastiff. At all times, additional donations to our program are gratefully and gladly accepted.

Mastiffs who become available for adoption are Mastiffs that are referred to us if, for any reason, they are homeless and the breeder cannot be located. Usually, they range from two to six years of age. These Mastiffs come from a variety of circumstances, including animal shelters.

When a Mastiff is released to us, it is taken to a veterinarian for a medical check-up and necessary vaccinations. The Mastiff’s temperament is evaluated and we attempt to locate any past history of the Mastiff. These Mastiffs are spayed or neutered before being released to their new home.

Many times, Mastiffs are just not readily available for adoption. This is good news for us because it means that this wonderful breed is being well cared for. The bad news is your wait may be longer than you had hoped. Please be patient with our Rescue program.

Mastiff Hope strives to bring together Mastiffs and families in the same geographical area in order to keep transportation costs to a minimum. However, if you are willing to pay for transportation to adopt from another area, you could find a Mastiff in your home sooner than you think.

We are looking for permanent, loving homes where the Mastiff will receive top quality care. These Mastiffs need a special place where they will be appreciated as a companion dog and part of the family. Please visit our website at www.mastiffhope.org to view the Mastiffs that we currently have available for adoption.

To adopt, please fill out the Family Profile, located at the above website, and submit it for review. Applicants who meet the adoption criteria will be contacted for a home visit. Those applicants who do not meet adoption criteria will be notified in writing.
