Oleander's story...
Oleander's Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR (Purple) I'm working undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance. I can vanish into thin air if anyone or anything interferes with my investigation. If you need a cat who knows how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets, I just might take your case. More About Oleander: Oleander is a wonderful little black and white lady who happens to only have three legs. She and her sister Freesia were rescued and brought into the shelter by CAT's founder Evan Kalik. Upon Oleander's arrival the staff noticed her front left leg was not in good shape. After examining her leg, the vet staff decided amputation would the best thing for Oleander. Now that she is out of the hospital, Oleander and her sister Freesia are in search of their forever home. Oleander is a very sweet little girl who is a bit timid right now. She and her sister would do best in a quiet household with no small children as they become frightened easily. We're sure with some patience and a quite environment Oleander and Freesia will blossom. If you're looking for two sweet shy girls with hearts of gold, they're the pair for you! Better with a Buddy! Oleander and Freesia are a bonded pair. They are dependent on each other and would be very unhappy if separated. To help these cats get adopted as a pair, Cat Adoption Team now offers a discount of $50 on the second cat when bonded pairs are adopted together. Only CAT's Operations Manager will determine which cats are bonded pairs and this will be noted on the cats' charts. Bonded pairs apply to adult cats 1 year of age or older that are surrendered to the shelter at the same time from the same owner. The discount does not apply to kittens or to two cats that may be sharing a cage but came in separately. We hope that this discount will encourage adopters to open their hearts even more and give two cats that really depend on each other another chance at a forever home. Freesia and Oleander are currently in foster care. If you would like to meet them please contact Anne at (503) 582-9201. Find out who your perfect feline match is. Take our Meet Your Match survey. About Our Shelter...
The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, no-kill cat shelter with its own full service on-site veterinary hospital. CAT rescues, rehabilitates and places the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, rescue groups and veterinary offices to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. CAT saves close to 3,000 lives per year and relies heavily on the support of the public and generous volunteers. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us save lives!

1 Adult Cat $85
1 Senior Cat (over 8 years) $60
1 FIV/FELV Cat $60
The adoption fee includes:
Spay/Neuter
Testing for FELV and FIV
Microchip (including registration)
FVRCP and Leukemia vaccinations
Treatment for parasites (fleas, worms)

The Cat Adoption Team requires all potential adoptive families to meet with a trained adoption counselor before adopting a cat. Families must complete an application and sign a contract, which outlines our organization's adoption guidelines. Individuals who are interested in adopting a cat or kitten are welcome to call our facility to discuss these guidelines before visiting our adoption center.

In order to give our kittens a strong, healthy start in life, and to minimize behavior problems by assuring that they are fully weaned and litter box trained, we do not adopt out any kitten until they are at least 8-10 weeks old.

Cats or kittens that test positive for leukemia or FIV can still live relatively long and healthy lives in an indoor, stress-free environment. They must, however, be adopted to homes that either have no other cats or already have asymptomatic leukemia- or FIV-positive cats. These diseases cannot be passed on to humans; they can, however, be transmitted through blood to healthy cats. Therefore, these cats must be placed in indoor-only home.
