#1 GIRL! SAVE HER!'s Story...
BEAUTIFUL STORY! SAVE HER!

BEAUTIFUL HEARTWARMING STORY!

This sweet 2 year old Chow Chow girl needs YOUR help!

Such a sweet Chow - loving and nice.  She survived starvation, dehydration and one of the worst cases of mange!  Her kind savior and her vet have helped to make her much much better both physically and emotionally.  Now she is now a happy girl and wants a forever home!

She is completely housebroken and has never had an accident in the house.  She has a good friend; a 50 lb Pharaoh Hound.  They play, eat, and sometimes nap together when they're outside together.  She rides well in the van.  She seems to tolerate/ignore the neighborhood cats, but I do not know how she would be inside the house with one.
She likes other dogs. But, she is still people shy and is learning to warm up to being pet and hugged.

Chow girl needs a FOREVER HOME!!!

HER STORY
I spotted this abandoned chow at the mouth of the canyon where I live.  On a hot Sunday afternoon, after 10 days of feeding and watering her twice a day, she must have decided that enough was enough.  Cause after I put new water in her water bowl, she came right up to me and laid ON my feet. Before this, she never got much closer than 15 feet, or so.
I bent down, put a leash around her, and off she came to my house.  The next day, a neighbor helped me get her to a vet.  She had one of the worst cases of deep, demodex mange he had seen in quite a while. Along with that, even though she had access to water, she was dehydrated, and had secondary skin infection to the mange. He estimated her to be about 2 years old. Beautiful white teeth, but a little plaque build up on the back ones. Anyway, I got some Ivermectin, for the mange, and keflex for the skin infection.
I also used a new product called Vetercyn, which is a topical spray for lesions, abrasions, wounds, and cuts. I also got her shaved down to help in controlling the skin infection, AND, making it easier access to her skin lesions. Amazingly, the open lesions dried up and started healing within 24 hours (due to the Vetercyn, in my opinion) That was six weeks ago. She has been back to the Dr. three times since, for weekly, biweekly checkups. The Dr has been amazed at her healing. He says he has never seen a dog as bad off as she was heal so fast; gain weight; and get that 'sparkle' back into her young eyes.  She is still on the Ivermectin, Keflex, and Vetercyn, and will be for about another month.  She is also getting ImmunoBosster injections to help her immune system return to normal.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a very small group of people dedicated to helping, saving, re-homing, educating, advising people about chows and ALL breeds. We are a 501c3 non profit of all volunteers. We network/cross-post to help save animals. We have adoptions and invite people into our 'outreach' program so they can 'show' their dogs. We need volunteers, we need funds to help get the dogs out of shelters and to get vet care. We help dogs of all ages and have saved over 200 chows and mixes as well as other breeds. We need FOSTERS to help the many dogs that needs somewhere safe to go until they find a fabulous, loving home. We advocate spay and neuter and also giving every dog a chance no matter how old, or infirmed or grouchy. They all change with good care and love and proper direction.
