| Marco Polo is a friendly, loving abandoned pet, found lost in an alley in Washington, DC. He is gentle, beautiful and very sweet, and wants attention from his human. He was probably put out when he started to grow up, and he was wandering over a large area looking up the steps at houses, hoping he would find a new home. He has wonderful manners and will make a great addition to any household. Marco Polo appeared in an alley off Georgia Avenue last Fall, and joined a feral colony each night for dinner. Then he disappeared, only to reappear seven blocks away going from house to house looking for a home, thin and alone. Fortunately, he came back to the original neighborhood, where a 4Paws volunteer immediately picked up the lost explorer and brought him in. Now he will have a chance to fatten up again, and get all the love he wants and deserves, no more trying to get by alone on the mean streets of DC.
Marco is 2 years old. He is now neutered, and has his vaccinations. He is negative for FeLV, although he currently tests positive for FIV. He will be retested in a few months to see if he has thrown it off, but even if not, he has a long, happy life ahead of him. FIV is now known to be a manageable virus, but it means his human will have to take good care of him. He gets along well with other cats. He is ready for a new home and family who will give him all the love and attention he should have had his whole life!
