| Buffy was born June 1999. He weighs about 16 lbs. He is housebroken if on a schedule, but does need a bellyband if he goes visiting. Buffy is extremely bright, catching on to things very quickly. He does "the wave", and trains his human to do what he wants very fast. He was potty trained by giving him a treat every time he went out and did his business. He quickly figured out where the treats are, and will stand by the cupboard when he comes in and waves at it, telling you to give him a treat. He's not much of a barker, but can be vocal when he wants something. Such as- he needs out, he's out of water, or the food dish is empty. Buffy gets along with everyone he meets. He is in a foster home with cats, and he is fine with them. He's very laid back and mellow. He does have a problem with allergies, and will chew hot spots on occasion. This is remedied by an injection from the vet, and some benadryl.
Buffy would be fine in a home with other pets, or as an only dog. He's not very playful, so any kids in the house should understand that he's not their playmate, but their companion. He loves walks and car rides. He'd be a perfect apartment dog because he's great on a leash! He stays right by you, and looks up to you for direction, instead of dragging you along. He is crate trained, but can be trusted with free run of the house when you are away. He sleeps in the big bed with his human. Crating him at night has been unsuccessful. He wants to be with you all the time, and will bark loudly all night otherwise. He's a great sleep partner, he settles in the bed and doesn't move all night. Buffy is being lovingly fostered in Iowa.
