| Bud is a 3 yr. old Beagle who was dumped in a local pound when his family decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of owning a dog. He was frightened to death there & it was obvious he needed to get into a foster situation. We took Bud into our care & he has settled in. However, he’s stubborn & headstrong. Bud will need an experienced guardian since he does challenge authority. Bud isn’t a good choice for a novice owner. As long as you’re patient & keep him in check with a firm hand, he’ll do just fine. He’s a little chowhound so you’ll need to watch his food intake to keep him from packing on the pounds. While he is okay with the other dogs in his foster home, but I think it would be best to have him as an only pet. He can be bossy & doesn't like to share his food or human with the others. He follows me even to the bathroom & he doesn't like to stay outside unless I’m out there with him. He’ll need a quiet house, only 1 or 2 people. We prefer an adult only home for this guy. Beagles are known for attaching to only a select few people to the exclusion of everyone else. He’s not that loud unless he’s in a crate & then he voices his displeasure. He does have some good qualities as well. He loves cuddling on the couch with me & would be content to spend the entire evening snuggled up against my leg.
