Good with dogs: Some

Good with cats: Yes

Good with kids: Yes

Weight: 47 lbs.

Name/Nicknames: Spooky/ Spooks

How did I get to ARLP: My family is having difficulty dealing with the fact that I don't get along with my doggy sister and would like to find me a family that is a perfect match for me. I am staying with my original family until we find them.

Hobbies: I love walks, watching birds, and a lot of pets and snuggles from anybody.  I do make it my personal mission to lick everyone several times as well.

Tricks/Commands: I know basic commands like sit, lay down, play dead, sit pretty, drop, no, and sometimes I stay when told.  I sometimes need extra reminding with some of my commands.

Crate Trained: When my family first rescued me I did not like being alone in a crate. I did okay in a larger outdoor kennel accompanied by my big sister dog, but recently I have done really well just hanging out in the house while my family is away.

Potty Trained: I am fully trained to use outside areas for potty time.  I will also “go potty” on command, most of the time.

Size in pounds: I am 47 pounds of cuteness but I am short and my mommy says I need to trim down a bit to 35 pounds.

Activity Level: I love being active on walks and just to run around on some open land.  I also love any opportunity to snuggle close to someone and just relax.  I may be short, but I am a good jumper and may be able to jump shorter fences.

Fun things I do: I like to follow my nose and have a very keen interest in birds when they fly over me.  I sometimes play fetch indoors, but I get tired of it after about 5 rounds.

Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with one other female dog, we get along for the most part, but sometimes we disagree.  I also live with two cats that I get along with fine, although I do try to chase them sometimes.  I also live with a little 3 year old girl who I give lots of licks to and let her do silly things like put necklaces on me and play doctor (or is it veterinarian?).

About Our Rescue Group...
A Rotta Love Plus is dedicated to the Rottweiler, APBT, AmStaff, and other non-traditional breeds. We are the oldest Rottweiler rescue in the state of Minnesota and the first non-profit Rottweiler Rescue in the state. (A Rotta Love and PitsPlus have merged as one!)

Rescue - We are here to rescue the unwanted and neglected Rottweilers and other non-traditional breeds that are surrendered to local animal shelters.
Re-Home - With the help of foster homes we evaluate and prepare the dogs to be re-homed with a loving family.
Educate - For those willing, we are here to educate on responsible ownership of these great breeds and what owning a dog (or dogs) is all about.

The Rottweiler, APBT, and many others have fallen victim to bad press and prejudice. A Rotta Love is THEIR VOICE. We are here to defend and protect these wonderful breeds.

Our Adoption Process...
Every dog adopted from A Rotta Love Plus goes to its new home spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. We also provide a collar, leash and their favorite toy. We request a $300 donation for each dog to help us cover these costs and to assist us in rehoming other dogs.

If you are interested in one of the dogs you see here the first step is to fill out our online application which is available on our website or to give us a call.

If you don't see a dog here that fits your particular needs please give us a call anyway. We frequently have dogs on a waiting list or in other shelters. Let's us know what you are looking for and we can usually help you find the perfect dog for your situation. If you are looking to work with people that KNOW these breeds you've come to the right place. We've trained and competed with the Rottweiler for many years and placed over 300 dogs since 1997.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based out of the Twin Cities but adopt to the entire state of MN.

No out of state adoptions.
