If you would like to meet Polly, we really need you to fill out an application FIRST. You can easily fill one out online at www.mollysmuttsandmeows.org. Go to our ADOPT page. Once you fill it out, hit submit. Be as complete as you can and don't be shy! We like to know a lot about the homes for our critters. After we get it, we'll respond within 24 hours. (We're all volunteers and work full-time, so be patient with us. We will respond, I promise!)

Polly is a purebred Miniature Pinscher we rescued from the Pasadena Humane Society. She is a bit shy, but she is a love. She is small, compact, muscular, a sleek girl with square proportions and well-chiseled lines. Polly has all true features of a Min Pin.

She is living with her wonderful foster mom and other dogs. We would like to see her go to a home with another dog because she really enjoys company. We would also like to see Polly go to a home with an 'alpha' guardian. Polly has traditional Min Pin traits, and she can be a bit overprotective of her home/guardian. If she does not have an alpha owner, she will most likely lunge at new houseguests or bark/snap at folks she doesn't know while on a walk. If you speak to a good animal behaviorist (as we have), you'll learn Polly is just being overprotective when she's unsure of herself. If she can relax in her home and know that her caretaker is alpha and can handle the situation, then Polly won't feel the need to be so overprotective. 

Polly is very, very loving. Once she knows you, she will love you forever. It's her love for her person that makes her so protective. This is a VERY easy thing to work with since many of us have protective dogs (of our homes, our cars, etc).  But because Polly could snap at someone, we want to make sure her new folks work with her on this. We would even pay for a session with our animal behaviorist.  She knows Polly and can work with any new parent(s) to make sure she stays on the right track.
