History: Shelter - Nicholas County

Description: Hi! My name is Simp and I am a female Chihuahua/Feist (terrier) mix that came from a shelter in West Virginia. I am still growing but my foster mom suspects that I will probably remain quite small,
perhaps under 20 pounds. My foster mom says that I am as sweet as sugar which is the name she likes to call me sometimes. I love attention and will just melt in your arms. I have puppy enthusiasm, but still have to get my beauty sleep. I appear to be on the mellow side and my foster mom is sure that I would still have this characteristic when I'm older. Though don't get me wrong I can certainly keep up with any dog and enjoy a good race. I am crate trained, but I am not house trained yet. I am able to hold it for 4 hours and so if you keep me on a schedule I shouldn't have too many accidents. I do whine/bark when I am left alone, but once I get older
and get use to your schedule this behavior should subside. I am just starting to teeth and occasionally I chew things that are inappropriate, but I'm pretty good about chewing my bones my foster mom leaves laying around the house for me. I really enjoy my walks but I do have a tendency to tug or be a tad stubborn. I appear to do really well with kids, but I am still a puppy and so I would need to be taught what I can and cannot do around children. I love to play with other dogs and seem to accept all dogs big and small. I am sure to be a great little dog for any family with a little work and training.

Adoption events are held at Petco in the Greenbriar Shopping Center every Sunday from 1-4 pm.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application filled out, two interviews with volunteers (this can be done at the adoption event), a home visit is required prior to the animal going to their new home. An adoption fee of $325.00 for dogs/puppies and a fee of $150.00 for cats/kittens.
