Kipper is a social little guy who is very easygoing and loves absolutely everybody on either two or four feet. He is content to play outdoors with you or snuggle on the couch. He is leash and housetrained- although he will have to adjust to your schedule. Children seem to be a lot of fun as playmates for Kipper, but not too small, because he is a busy boy. Having playmates 5 or older to keep him busy will help Kipper lose a few pounds; as he is a bit chunky, like most Corgis. Kipper was surrendered to rescue by his family because they were too busy to give him the attention he deserves. He is four years old (D.O.B. 5-29-05) and weighs 26 pounds. Kipper has been neutered, brought up to date on his immunizations, tested negative for heartworms and started on preventative. Kipper’s adoption donation is $100, but is somewhat negotiable. We do approve out of state adoptions. Although an adopter must be willing to drive to fetch the new family member, Kipper’s foster mom is willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet halfway. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, please email us at info@littlebitsrescue.org or fill out an APPLICATION.
Our mission is to rescue toy breed dogs (purebred and mixed) from local shelters or from owners wishing to surrender dogs. We provide all necessary vet care, including spay/neuter and vaccinations. We then place the dogs in new homes after an extensive screening process.
We do not have a shelter. All our dogs are housed in our personal homes. For this reason, we do not arrange meetings until we have received a completed application.
Our Adoption Process...
The first step in our adoption process is an application. We also do reference checks, a personal phone interview with the applicant, and a home visit. Our adoptions require a legally binding contract. Our fees vary from dog to dog, but the average is $200.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based in Birmingham, Alabama, and we also have a foster home in the Huntsville, Alabama area. We do approve out of area adoptions if the adopter is willing to drive to the foster home to "fetch" the new baby.
