Sheela's Story...
Sheila is a German Shepherd, and she is a great dog .She came to us two years ago as a then one year old abandoned stray . Possibly she had been hit by a car, as she was badly limping and she was also nothing but skin and bones, very malnourished. She has always loved people and must have suffered greatly being abandoned by her owners, no matter who they were or what they must have done to her, or never bothered to do with her. Sheila was never socialized with other dogs and to this day, we cannot correct her behavior towards other canines. She acts very aggressive - possibly motivated by fear. Sheila must not be around other dogs until someone experienced has properly worked with her to get her over this her problem. She is a fast learner who is very eager to please and wants nothing more than your love, and has a lot of love to give .She enjoys playing with her ball, swimming and is wonderful to walk in areas without other dogs around. We would like to see Sheila go to a home with a very loving ,but no nonsense person who is experienced with German Shepherd dogs .Adopters must have a very secure fence and no children who might forget to shut the gate, letting Sheila loose in the neighborhood. Someone who will love Sheila for who she is, and even more so for who she will become with patience and training .

About Our Rescue Group...
-We rescue abandoned and homeless cats, dogs, rabbits and birds, provide veterinary care and rehabilitation, and adopt these animals to responsible, loving homes
-Rescue and reunite lost companion animals them with their guardians
-Educate animal guardians on responsible animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering
-Provide financial assistance to low income families for spaying and neutering
-Promote a compassionate and humane attitude within the community toward all animals.
-Organize and facilitate spay/neuter “wellness“ clinics for cats and dogs on First Nations Reserves in order to reduce animal overpopulation and to alleviate and prevent suffering

Our Adoption Process...
$250 dog adoption fee
$ 50 cat adoption fee
$150 kitten adoption fee (or $200 for a pair!)
Adoption process – Potential adopters will be interviewed either over the telephone or by filling out an application form (please email olr call us & we will send you a copy).
We will require proof of home ownership or copy of lease or rental agreement along with landlord permission to have an animal companion. If applicable, copies of the condominium by-laws to assure animals are allowed in the complex.
The foster home will have final approval of all applicants and a home check might follow.
Applicants will be required to sign our contract agreement.
All animals are spayed or neutered.
We will recommend applicants sign up for obedience classes when adopting dogs. Some dogs will require confirmation of class registration.
