I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.
6 year old Harry came out of a puppy mill in 2008 and unfortunately is one of the least socialized dogs CSTR has ever seen. He is extremely timid, does not adapt well to change, and is much happier with his foster siblings and without human contact. As a result, Harry is in CSTR's Refuge program and it is doubtful that he will ever be considered adoptable. CSTR's 'Refuge' program is for dogs who come into our program and are either temporarily or permanently unable to be placed in the adoption program. As a result, an adoption fee may never be collected for these dogs, yet their veterinary costs continue for the remainder of their time in our program. Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue is a small 501(c)3 federal nonprofit rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu mixes who find themselves facing euthanasia in shelters, released from puppy mills and needing a new chance at life and other dogs from unfortunate situations.
Our mission and goal are simple... to rescue as many needy Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu mixes as our resources will allow, to rehabilitate them in preparation for their new families and lives, and to find the absolute best possible forever homes for them.
