Lilo's story...
LILO's Meet Your Match Feline-alityTM is PERSONAL ASSISTANT (Orange) You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop on your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me. More About Me: We don't have a clue where Stitch is, but Lilo is at the CAT Adoption Team here in Sherwood, and you'd be smart to rush right down and adopt her. This little girl is just a little over a year old, with a comically cute face and a quirky, amusing personality. She loves to be held and petted and has a very strong playing gene. She has to investigate everything and hasn't met a toy she doesn't like. Lilo's the type of kitty who'll expect to be right in the middle of all your family activities. In the Disney animated film 'Lilo & Stitch', Lilo is depicted with a spirited and highly eccentric personality. Just a few minutes with Lilo, the cat, and you will understand why she was given her name. In size, she's a little peanut but in personality she's huge! Not one shy bone in her body and she loves to hang out in laps. Takes her about 2 seconds to make herself at home by cuddling right into the perfect spot on your lap. And while she's there she's sure to engage you in some nice kitty talk. Her sweet kitty chatter is just another awesome aspect of her personality. We have learned a little more about Lilo because someone did adopt her; however, after a week she was returned. It turns out that along with her spirited personality is the need to be 'top' cat if other cats are around. Obviously, this did not sit well with the resident cat. At this point, we believe she would be best in a home as an only cat or in a home with a cat that knows how to put up with her 'big' personality. As mentioned previously, she really is a cutie with her endearing facial features. Her nose has that 'pug' look and her face is carved like a sphinx. Sprinkle a couple of bright turquoise eyes onto this face and you'll see that they just don't get any cuter than this! If you meet her, you'll have trouble leaving without her. About Our Shelter...
The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, no-kill cat shelter with its own full service on-site veterinary hospital. CAT rescues, rehabilitates and places the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. CAT not only partners with the community but with local county shelters, rescue groups and veterinary offices to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems or space constraints. CAT saves close to 3,000 lives per year and relies heavily on the support of the public and generous volunteers. Thank you for visiting our site and helping us save lives!

The adoption fee includes:

Testing for FELV and FIV
Microchip (including registration)
FVRCP and Leukemia vaccinations
Treatment for parasites (fleas, worms)

The Cat Adoption Team requires all potential adoptive families to meet with a trained adoption counselor before adopting a cat. Families must complete an application and sign a contract, which outlines our organization's adoption guidelines. Individuals who are interested in adopting a cat or kitten are welcome to call our facility to discuss these guidelines before visiting our adoption center.

In order to give our kittens a strong, healthy start in life, and to minimize behavior problems by assuring that they are fully weaned and litter box trained, we do not adopt out any kitten until they are at least 8-10 weeks old.

Cats or kittens that test positive for leukemia or FIV can still live relatively long and healthy lives in an indoor, stress-free environment. They must, however, be adopted to homes that either have no other cats or already have asymptomatic leukemia- or FIV-positive cats. These diseases cannot be passed on to humans; they can, however, be transmitted through blood to healthy cats. Therefore, these cats must be placed in indoor-only home.
