Chloe's story...
Hi! My name is Chloe, I'm a young, beautiful and energetic pointer mix! I'm approx 7 months old and weigh 40 pounds. I love to play, run, and do doggie work. I would do very will in a home that gets lots of excercise that I can particpiate in. Since I come from a mix of working breed dogs, I would really like to have some tasks and activities to do with you. Maybe tennis balls and games or a jog and a swim? I know "Sit, Stay, Off, Walk" and can learn much more if you teach me. I have lots of puppy energy so if I am cooped up I become frustrated and chew my foster mom's shoes!
I should be the only pet in my forever home because I don't like othger dogs around me when I eat. Sometimes its OK and sometimes its not ,so to be safe I want to be an only dog, OK? I also need to start off on a leash any time another dog is around until I get older. I love to play with kids (chase anyone?) and have no issues with the kiddos in my foster home.
I still get scared of loud noises and am a runner so a fenced in yard is ideal in case I get spooked. That will subiside as I become more confident and secure in a forever home- but it will take time for me not to react to some loud noises.
I am a VERY lucky girl because a positive reinforcement trainer that works with shelter doggies said I would get free lessons when I am adopted! That would be so aweome and I really want to live with an owner that wants to teach me cool stuff so we can both live happily ever after. If you have lots of energy like me, please come meet me and see what a doll I am! I'm spayed, up to date on shots and potty trained. My adoption fee is $50 please send an email to thedoglover@att.net to meet me.

About Our Rescue Group...
My name is Jill and I am the President of Homeless Animal Rescue Team. I am a licensed rescue. I have been doing rescue for 3 years now. It is the hardest job I will ever love. The reason I do what I do is to save the animals in the high kill shelters in the Southern states that wouldn't have a chance if it wasn't for out of state rescues like ours. I also do what I do to educate the public about the proper care of animals and to be the voice for those that are not being taken care of. We are foster home based so we can only save as many as we have room for in our dedicated foster homes so if you can't adopt please consider fostering a dog or puppy for us. Please feel free to call me any time day or night with any questions. 815-919-2587 or thedoglover@att.net

Come Meet Our Pets...
We are not a shelter. We are a group of concerned pet owners that came together to rescue dogs from municipal kill shelters in rural counties. HART is a licensed rescue that is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 group and is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog from the kill facility, it is placed in the care of one of our loving foster homes in Northeastern Illinois.
To meet one of our sweet dogs or for more information on a particular dog, please contact Jill at thedoglover@att.net. To expedite your request, please download and complete an Adoption Application in full and return to Jill at thedoglover@att.net. Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster home to set up a time to meet the pooch of your choice!

You may not get an immediate response as we get tied up when saving dogs from euthanasia, often just days or hours before they are scheduled to be put to sleep. This takes a lot of coordination when done from out of state. Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, It is not unusual for us to take several days to respond. Its not that we do not appreciate you because we LOVE our adopters! Things just take longer for all volunteer organizations so we appreciate your patience and understanding. Feel free to email us again if you feel we may have overlooked your inquiry or application and you are committed to adopting a rescue dog for the rest of its life.
Thank you for considering adoption!

To make an appointment to meet one of our pets, please download, complete and submit an adoption application. Apps available at www.hartofil.com and it will expedite your request.
