The humans who surrendered me to pug rescue said I am 5 year old – Pug Rescue thinks I might be a little older but we do not know for sure.
A very nice lady came and took me for a medical checkup and I tested heartworm positive- and tested positive for hookworm, whip worms and round worms. This nice lady called Pug Rescue to save me!
Because I had so many worms I am very thin and unhealthy. I am so unhealthy and sick I cannot receive my heartworm treatment to get rid of them yet. I have lost most of my fur as well because I had so many worms in my tiny body. I weighed 8 lbs when I first came into my pug rescue foster home. My foster Mom is trying to get me healthy before I can start my heartworm treatment.
I have dry eyes, entropion and get drops twice a day, due to the neglect of my previous owners I am almost blind now too, but I can see some shadows and get around well enough to explore my surrounding.
Due to all my hair loss and I was so itchy my Foster Mom thinks I may have food allergies, so she has started de-toxing my system and will start food trials to see what kind of food I can eat. Once she finds a food I can eat I won’t itch and scratch myself so bad. So far I am doing well and slowly gaining some weight back.
8.18.2009 - Food Trials: I am now on Thrive dog Food by The Honest Kitchen, and NuJoint Supplement twice a day, and I really love this food.
