Name/Nicknames: Lily: Lil’ Lilly, Willers

How did I get to ARLP: I was born on a Native American Reservation where I contracted severe mange as a puppy due to inadequate care, poor nutrition and no shelter. My owner surrendered me due to the care that my condition would demand. I got to ride back to Iowa on a plane and have been happy, healthy and recovering for the last 4 months! ARLP was nice enough to host me on their website to find a permanent place for me! To learn more about the type of mange Lily has, click here: Demodex Mange.

Hobbies: I LOVE running, the best is when I get to chase and be chased by my friends at the dog park! When I’m at home my favorite thing to do is flop onto my back and doggie paddle my legs in the air-it’s the perfect stretch and scratch. I also enjoy sharing a doggie bed and snoozing with my pal Sadie (when she’ll tolerate it), breaking in rawhides and people watching (and meeting) downtown.

Tricks/Commands: I’ve been working on and have almost mastered, “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” “down,” “heel,” “go potty,” “off,” and “NO.”

Crate Trained: I don’t mind spending the night in my crate but I’d much rather lie around with you when you’re home. I get bored spending too much time in there—but if I must, I won’t fight it. I am very trustworthy in the house though and will wander over to the door a few times to let you know I need OUT!

Potty Trained: I’ve been working on this very hard and don’t tend to have accidents. I always let you know when I need to go out, it just depends on if you’re paying attention to me. Right now I’m working on learning how to ring a bell anytime I’m at the door to alert you.

Size in pounds: 40lbs, I’m still growing but won’t likely break 45lbs

Activity Level: I have been told I’m a remarkably calm puppy. When you’re mellow, I’m mellow. I don’t tend to have as much sympathy for dogs though and like to nibble their paws and chew on their ears so they’ll play with me. It annoys Sadie. If I have one or two quality walks throughout the day I’m happy. But my favorite way to burn off energy is to play fetch with you or take a trip to the dog park! Other than that I tolerate rainy days pretty well and LOVE to curl up with anyone and take long naps!

Fun things I do: When I wake up in the morning I love to run into mom and dad’s bedroom and bound up on the bed! It’s so soft and feathers come out which I like to bite at while they float in the air. I can jump abnormally high, I take off from my hind legs and can almost touch the tops of doors with my nose!

Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with Chelsea and Adam who rescued me. Sadie is a 4 year old Rottie who I wish would be my friend, but I think she much prefers people to dogs. There are also two cats here, I love staring them down and chasing them. They don’t appreciate it so much. One swats me on the nose whenever I get to close so I don’t bother her very much but the other takes off and I can’t help but chase. I really enjoy the company of playful, carefree, well socialized dogs like me and we can entertain ourselves for hours! But I really don’t prefer nervous, insecure, dominant dogs who don’t appreciate a good round of playtime.

About Our Rescue Group...
A Rotta Love Plus is dedicated to the Rottweiler, APBT, AmStaff, and other non-traditional breeds. We are the oldest Rottweiler rescue in the state of Minnesota and the first non-profit Rottweiler Rescue in the state. (A Rotta Love and PitsPlus have merged as one!)

Rescue - We are here to rescue the unwanted and neglected Rottweilers and other non-traditional breeds that are surrendered to local animal shelters.
Re-Home - With the help of foster homes we evaluate and prepare the dogs to be re-homed with a loving family.
Educate - For those willing, we are here to educate on responsible ownership of these great breeds and what owning a dog (or dogs) is all about.

The Rottweiler, APBT, and many others have fallen victim to bad press and prejudice. A Rotta Love is THEIR VOICE. We are here to defend and protect these wonderful breeds.

Our Adoption Process...
Every dog adopted from A Rotta Love Plus goes to its new home spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. We also provide a collar, leash and their favorite toy. We request a $300 donation for each dog to help us cover these costs and to assist us in rehoming other dogs.

If you are interested in one of the dogs you see here the first step is to fill out our online application which is available on our website or to give us a call.

If you don't see a dog here that fits your particular needs please give us a call anyway. We frequently have dogs on a waiting list or in other shelters. Let's us know what you are looking for and we can usually help you find the perfect dog for your situation. If you are looking to work with people that KNOW these breeds you've come to the right place. We've trained and competed with the Rottweiler for many years and placed over 300 dogs since 1997.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based out of the Twin Cities but adopt to the entire state of MN.

No out of state adoptions.
