Sadee's story...

Meet Sadee! Sadee is a 5-6 year old Spitz mix. She was rescued from a shelter in Indiana. Sadee was running around the streets with her own puppies, dodging all of those who were trying desperately to help her. She finally brought her puppies into a back yard where she thought they would be safe, and the people who lived there took her to the shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter is a kill shelter and Sadee didn't have much time to find a home. She also tested positive for heartworms, and so was next on the euthanasia list as the shelter does not have the funds or capability to treat for this all too common, deadly disease.

Sadee's puppies were saved by another rescue, but they left Sadee there to die after she had done so much for her puppies. We received an email plea from one of the volunteers at the shelter begging us to help her. How could we say no to such a good mom so close to Mothers Day?

Sadee is now in a foster home in Delaware, where she is settling in nicely. Her foster mom reports that she gets along great with the other dogs in her home, seems housebroken, and is non destructive. She also gets along fine with cats. Her foster mom says that she is afraid of thunderstorms and will hide behind your chair when one arrives. Her foster mom feels that she either may have been abused or maybe just never socialized well, and so quick movements startle her. Her first night at her new foster home, she gathered all of her foster moms slippers in the living room with her overnight. She did not destroy them, just slept with them. Maybe she is trying to replace her puppies?

Sadee is a good girl who really deserves a loving, stable home for the rest of her years. She is on the petite side, weighing 41 pounds. She is a very meek, well tempered little girl. she loves to roll over and get belly rubs!

She completed her heartworm treatment and will need to be retested in 3-4 months.
