Monkey's story...
Monkey is a very friendly and loving cat who will enjoy spending the evening curled up in your lap, watching TV with you, or keeping you company while you read a book. As a Hurricane Katrina survivor, he is still quite frightened by heavy rainstorms. Monkey and his previous owner lost their home to Katrina and his owner was then diagnosed with cancer and couldn't keep him. A Katrina volunteer who met his owner promised to find him a good home and that is how he ended up in the Bay Area. Although Monkey was unfortunately declawed by his previous owner, he holds his own pretty well with other cats. He knows his name and will come when called. He is very tolerant with young children and so eager for attention that he doesn’t even mind them handling him. He doesn’t tolerate dry cat food well so he will need a wet diet, but is otherwise in excellent health. Monkey is a lovely cat who will enrich your life with his sweet love. He likes other cats and would be fine living with another. He probably wouldn't mind a calm dog. We estimate Monkey was born in 2004.

Come Meet Our Pets...
A Leg Up Rescue's dogs are kept in loving foster homes in and around the San Francisco Bay Area where they can relax and let their true personalities shine. They also begin to exhibit exceptional house manners as our foster homes are dedicated and experienced.

We will make arrangements for approved potential adopters to meet a dog, or you may visit us at one of our Meet & Greet events detailed on our web site.

Our Adoption Process...
We request potential adopters to complete an adoption application and agree to a home visit. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and receive a comprehensive medical examination prior to being adopted. We make every effort to match the right dog with the right family.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties, Mid-Peninsula, down to San Jose, and limited East Bay areas.
