My name is Whiskey, I am approximately 6 years old. I came into foster care when my owner died and the family dumped me at the shelter. We were separated at the shelter until a volunteer brought us together again. Oh how happy we were, we danced and bark for joy! I have been on a diet, I love food and I mean I really love food. I weighed 81 pounds; so my diet was strict and it has paid off! I am now the perfect size, but my new family will have to watch my food and treat intake as I will eat all you will give me and then some. I will only be adopted with my best friend and buddy, Paxton. We are totally bonded to each other. We are no trouble, we have great manners; make no demands - well I will stand quietly by the treat jar, but I am not upset when you tell me no. Both of us are house trained; well mannered; quiet; lovable and crate trained - but we do not need a crate - we are perfectly reliable in the house. Now that I have lost all my weight, I am in the process of having my coat stripped - which makes me still look large; but not as large as I was! Our foster family is very attached to us and said they will find us the perfect home together. They love us and have helped us thru the grieve of losing our owner and our home. We are well mannered and bond easily to those who care for us and love us. We also adore children and have no problems with cats. We are both quiet and easy going with no issues at all. I hope that you will come and meet us - I know it is a tall order to adopt a couple; but you will see when you meet us, that we are as perfect as two dogs can be. All individuals wishing to adopt a dog must complete an application. A vet check and home visit also apply. All dogs have basic obedience; are house trained and crate trained. Additionally, all adopted dogs are welcome at all training classes offered by Maximum K-9 around the DFW area for the life of the dog. We are a small shelter, owned and operated by a trainer, (see www.maximumk-9.com) offering a variety of animals for adoption. Our main focus is on dogs; but we occasionally have cats and birds. Before placement, all dogs and cats have current vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative, and are restored as necessary to good health. Any animal with special needs will be noted on their bio. We strive to give you as complete a picture as possible on any animal in our rescue. All dogs have basic obedience, and are house trained.unless otherwise noted. We also crate train all dogs. We require that you complete our adoption application and submit to a vet check and home visit to qualify for adoption. Adoption fees, ranging from $200 to $500, are charged to defray a fraction of veterinary and other costs incurred in the restoration of your animal’s health. All adoption fees are considered donations and are therefore not refundable. If for any reason, an adoption does not work out, the animal MUST be returned to A Friend for Life Animal Rescue.
