Teddy Bear Hugs & Gentle Licks – Our Little Doll-Baby Clyde Sometimes dogs come along that remind even the most seasoned rescuer… ‘Yes, this is why we rescue.’ Clyde is just that sort of dog. Is he the handsomest dog DRSF has ever saved? Probably not; we kid that he is so homely – only a mother could love his face! He is a red recessive which means he has this eerie two-tone coat with red fur on top and dappling underneath. The recessive genes give him the haunting red rims around his eyes and the red nose (both normally black). Until recently, his front canine teeth stuck out of his mouth making him look a bit like a saber tooth tiger. Here is his post surgery photo – enjoying the ‘happy feel of post surgical meds!’ The truth however is so evident once you meet our -- he is truly beautiful both inside and out.Now that he’s healed (and yes the tongue has returned to his mouth) he is back to the same dollbaby that makes you want to hold him and love him forever. And boy can this teeny tiny little 8 pound ball of joy return the favor!!! He may be about 8+ years old and after years of neglect have only a few teeth left…but nothing gets this guy down. He runs, he plays ball, he loves car rides and lunch at an outside café. Having almost no teeth has not dampened his appetite one bit! Clyde is also a bit of a fashion hound, he loves to dress up and looks so handsome most attires. He is the healthiest little guy around and we swear…he’s getting younger by the day. Clyde is being fostered in Miami, in case you’d like to stop by and meet him. His adoption fee is only $150 which will help pay for his vet care.
