Miss Mellow! Maya was left by her first owner at a humane society. Her adopters from the humane society decided they didn't want a dog after all; they were more cat people. So, now this super mellow couch potato of a sweet girl is seeking a happy, safe, permanent home. She lived outdoors for five years and has recently learned some crate training in her second home. She might fare best in a home with a dog door. She loves being indoors! She currently lives with a cat and might do fine with a self-confident cat. She needs a home asap. Her current home doesn't have a fenced yard and she would love a safe yard to putter around in nice weather. She walks fairly well on leash. Maya is looking forward to her new home and family. A.R.T.A. -- Animal Rescue, Transport, and Adoption -- is a small, rural foster home based rescue that cares for and places kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs into new homes -- usually, in the Tucson and Phoenix areas. Most of our adoptable animals have been relinquished by previous owners who could not care for them due to unforeseen circumstances or life changes. The adoptable animals may be visited by appointment or be seen in Tucson area. for weekend adoption events.
A.R.T.A. adopts mostly to homes in Tucson and Phoenix areas. Other locations may be considered.

Please, email about your ideal cat or dog you'd like to adopt and a little about home you are offering. Adoption fee is usually just the cost that vet charges for spay, neuter, and shots.
