My name is Tag. I am approximately 3.5 years old. I didn't have the best start in life but I am doing quite well now. I was so afraid when I came here; that I would walk crouched low to the ground. But now I am trotting along on a leash; playing with the other dogs and enjoying being a house dog. I am working on my obedience and I am told that I am doing quite well. I am a hardy eater, so they do watch my weight. As a Border Collie, I have all the attributes of a great herder. I am super intelligent, fast as the wind; love to run and play; and affection and petting are quite high on my list. I came from a seizure and it was scary for a while; but I am doing fine now and learning that my foster family things I am a super dog who deserves to be loved and cared for - so they are helping me find the perfect home. I do very well with the other dogs; I don't mind the cats - unless they run. They run, I chase, and foster mom says, 'Randy, Off!' So I stop. I would be perfect for an active family with a dog or two to play with; a large yard to run in; and a family who will love and care for me the rest of my life. I have come a long way and learned a lot. I hope you will come and see me!

We are a small shelter, owned and operated by a trainer, (see www.maximumk-9.com) offering a variety of animals for adoption. Our main focus is on dogs; but we occasionally have cats and birds. Before placement, all dogs and cats have current vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative, and are restored as necessary to good health. Any animal with special needs will be noted on their bio. We strive to give you as complete a picture as possible on any animal in our rescue. All dogs have basic obedience, and are house trained.unless otherwise noted. We also crate train all dogs. We require that you complete our adoption application and submit to a vet check and home visit to qualify for adoption. Adoption fees, ranging from $200 to $500, are charged to defray a fraction of veterinary and other costs incurred in the restoration of your animal’s health. All adoption fees are considered donations and are therefore not refundable. If for any reason, an adoption does not work out, the animal MUST be returned to A Friend for Life Animal Rescue.
