My name is Paxton, but they call me Pax. I am approximately 6 years old. I lost my home when my owner died and the family did not want me. I was dumped in the shelter with my best friend and buddy, Whiskey. He is also on this site. We are a unique pair; we are loving; sweet; adorable; and have no issues whatsoever. We are an exceptional pair of dogs who are extremely bonded to each other. I am unique in that I am also cross eyed. It does not slow me down a bit; I see just fine and have no problems navigating where I need to go. When I came here, I was thin and I had been shaved almost to the skin - except for my head. My foster family immediately started putting weight on me. I love food and I love treats, so it was no problem at all. My coat is still growing out and you can see how stunning I am. No longer naked, I am a happy camper. I play well with the other dogs; I am house trained; crate trained - but I do not need a crate at all. My buddy Whiskey and I are totally reliable in the house. My foster family has promised me that I will not get a new home without my buddy Whiskey. I would be lost without him! If you are looking for two calm; social; loving and exceptional dogs - we are the best pair you can find. We have no issues with cats or children either. We make no demands; just a nice play to nap; someone who loves and cares for us; and a walk a day and great food will be perfect for us. Please take the time to come and visit with us. You will be amazed at how nice the two of us are - by the way, we were dumped with our Coach collars! Once we had a loving and caring owner; we are interviewing for someone who will love and care for us the same way. All individuals wishing to adopt a dog must complete an application. A vet check and home visit also apply. All dogs have basic obedience; are house trained and crate trained. Additionally, all adopted dogs are welcome at all training classes offered by Maximum K-9 around the DFW area for the life of the dog. For an application: email gayle@maximumk-9.com or call 972.938.1011; or complete the application on our petfinder home page and email to gayle@maximumk-9.com.

We are a small shelter, owned and operated by a trainer, (see www.maximumk-9.com) offering a variety of animals for adoption. Our main focus is on dogs; but we occasionally have cats and birds. Before placement, all dogs and cats have current vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative, and are restored as necessary to good health. Any animal with special needs will be noted on their bio. We strive to give you as complete a picture as possible on any animal in our rescue. All dogs have basic obedience, and are house trained.unless otherwise noted. We also crate train all dogs. We require that you complete our adoption application and submit to a vet check and home visit to qualify for adoption. Adoption fees, ranging from $200 to $500, are charged to defray a fraction of veterinary and other costs incurred in the restoration of your animal’s health. All adoption fees are considered donations and are therefore not refundable. If for any reason, an adoption does not work out, the animal MUST be returned to A Friend for Life Animal Rescue.
