Rover's story...

Rover is a 9 month old male Shepherd/Husky/Collie mix who was hit by a car as a stray. Rover is still recuperating but his injured paw seems to be coming along just fine and he is using it gently. This beautiful pup has a gorgeous tri-colored shinny coat that just is not captured in his photos. Rover is crate trained and house broken and just as sweet and gentle as a dog can be. He would make any family a good, loyal and gentle dog. Rover does bark at strangers but does not have a mean bone in his body. Photos just do not do this unique looking dog justice. He is neutered, up to date on all his shots,wormed and frontlined. Come meet Rover and find out even though he has a plain name he is far from it. Call Rocky at 865-567-0050 for Rover 1/2009

The Grainger County Humane Society receives NO funding from our local government or other outside sources. The Humane Society exists on donations from private individuals, businesses and our volunteers' efforts. We DO NOT have an Animal Shelter or an Animal Control Officer. ALL work is done by our wonderful volunteers. Our long term goal and dream is to have a Shelter and an Animal Control Officer. We desperatly need Foster Homes, please help us out if you can.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees are $100.00 for Dogs or Cats. Senior Citizens (65 or older)get a special rate of $75.00.

Our contract can be seen on our website: www.graingercountyhumanesociety.org.

We also have a special foster and adoption process for our Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes to ensure they go to good loving homes. They all must be micro-chipped at the time of adoption. For further information on Pit Bull Rescue you may call 865 767-3738 or email timssquaw@hotmail.com.
